Job Summary
Gladys Pet Hospital is looking for a full time veterinary assistant/receptionist. Previous veterinary experience and a Veterinary office assistant certificate would be a great asset. We are looking for a compassionate, caring and outgoing personality who has knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and the AviMark Veterinary software. Must have great customer service skills to fulfill responsibilities such as greeting clients, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, handling cash transactions, using AviMark Software, cleaning duties and filling prescriptions. If you are a client service focused, detail oriented, reliable, organized and self starter able to multi task in a busy hospital, we are interested in hearing from you! Responsibilities

Greet clients warmly and efficiently check in and check out patients
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar to optimize workflow
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service
Maintain accurate patient records and update client information regularly
Process payments and handle billing procedures with professionalism
Assist with laboratory tasks as needed, utilizing laboratory experience to support diagnostics
Coordinate communication between clients and veterinary staff regarding appointments and treatments
Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Support veterinary staff with administrative tasks to facilitate smooth clinic operations

Experience

Laboratory experience is highly desirable, aiding in understanding diagnostic processes and supporting lab work
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Compassionate attitude towards animals and pet owners
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
Proficiency with computer software related to scheduling, record keeping, and billing is advantageous
