Keyera’s Northern Allowance is a tiered incentive program based on years of service, currently offered to employees working at the following locations: Grande Prairie Office, Wapiti, Simonette, Gold Creek, South Cheecham, and Fox Creek Terminal. THE POSITION
Grow with Keyera as an Operator for our Empress 6 facility- located approximately 100km north of Medicine Hat. These plants are some of the largest gas processing facilities in North America. The successful candidate for this position will be joining an operating crew at a 24 hour per day plant operation and providing leadership for the safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of the facility.
Note: Permanent residency within 120 km of the Empress facilities is a condition of employment. The successful candidate must be able to work a regular 12-hour shift rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the operation of the facility within regulatory parameters
- Operating, maintaining, and / or repairing equipment and systems including equipment startup, shutdown, isolation and supporting facility turnarounds
- Working effectively in a team environment to monitor, log, resolve, and escalate operational and safety issues
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, procedures, and site-specific training
- Demonstrating competency in the execution and evaluation of all operational tasks performed on shift
- Performing assistant engineer responsibilities according to the Alberta Safety Codes Act & Power Engineering Regulations
- Ensuring safety, environmental and regulatory requirements are met
- Supporting and collaborating with the Empress management team
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification required; 2nd Class is an asset
- Must be able to work a regular on-call 12-hour shift rotation, including weekends and statutory holidays
- Gas Processing Certification, previous experience in gas/NGL processing, and/or field operations considered strong assets;
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures and environmental conditions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to manually lift and handle heavy loads up to 50lbs.
- Project coordination, control room experience, and OHS considered an asset
- Valid H2S, WHMIS, TDG, and First Aid certificates considered assets
- Proficient skill with Microsoft based tools
- Team player with ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision
- This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate seal where the face piece of the equipment seals to the skin of the face.
- This role is subject pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
