Administrative Assistant
Temporary contract: August to December 2026 (approximately 5 months)

Job Description
Working in partnership with Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney, MDS AeroTest operates the GLACIER aircraft engine icing test facility in Thompson, Manitoba. GLACIER is a unique, world-class facility that provides turbofan engine manufactures with a critical capability to conduct ice ingestion certification testing for the next generation of aircraft engines.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant (Temporary Contract) to join our team. In this role you will be tasked with a myriad of administrative functions. You will work closely with both the General Manager and the Administrative coordinator. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible to liaise with customers, suppliers, visitors and other MDS offices and support all office administrative tasks in accordance with Company procedures.

What you will be doing:

Provide administrative and office management support by being the system / process/procedure owner.

Maintain Inventory records and receive logs.

Coordinate services with external suppliers and vendors

Maintain Visitor and Access Card Register

Provide Site Orientation when required

Make travel arrangements, such as plane reservations, hotel accommodations, auto rentals as required

Organize and assist with staff events

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What will help you succeed:

Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a professional business environment
-
Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to handle changing priorities and to work under pressure with minimum supervision

Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy

Proficiency with Microsoft office (outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint).

Excellent spelling, grammar, proof-reading, and administrative skills
-
Knowledge of accounting procedures and documentation

Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Ability to work overtime if required

Must possess a valid driver’s permit and reliable motor vehicle
