Full job description

Somerset Gardens Inc. is hiring a dependable, hands-on Construction Crew Lead to help lead day-to-day field execution across landscape construction projects throughout PEI.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, staying organized, solving problems, and helping projects run efficiently. This role is ideal for someone ready to take on more responsibility and grow into a larger leadership position over time.

Landscape experience is an asset, but strong construction or trade experience is equally valued.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading a small crew on residential and commercial construction projects

Working hands-on alongside the team daily

Helping organize materials, tools, equipment, and workflow

Keeping projects moving efficiently and on schedule

Maintaining quality standards and attention to detail

Identifying and solving problems on site

Communicating clearly with ownership and crew members

Helping maintain organized, clean, professional job sites

Types of Projects:

High-end residential landscape construction

Fiberglass pool installations

Retaining walls

Interlock and hardscape projects

Grading and machine work

Select commercial projects

What We’re Looking For:

Strong work ethic and reliability

Ability to lead by example

Competency around tools, equipment, and construction workflow

Good communication and problem-solving skills

Organized and self-motivated

Ability to keep projects and crews moving productively

Someone who takes ownership and works well independently

Strong candidates may come from landscaping, excavation, concrete, carpentry, utilities, agriculture, or other construction/trade backgrounds.

Crews arrive prepared and organized for the day

Projects continue moving without constant oversight

Problems are identified early and handled proactively

Job sites stay clean, safe, and professional

Materials, tools, and equipment are looked after properly

Crew communication stays productive and respectful

Quality and efficiency improve consistently over time

Clients and ownership can trust that things are being handled properly

Compensation & Benefits

$30–$40/hour based on experience, leadership, and capability
