Job Summary

Assess the customer's ability to pay by running a credit check, reviewing trade references, and evaluating their credit history. Set clear credit limits to manage risk. Ensuring A/R risk exposure is limited through proactive credit analysis and risk mitigation of customer base.

Duties & Responsibilities

Review and assess new customer credit applications, trade references, and financial information.
Evaluating client financial statements, credit bureau reports, and trade references to assign appropriate credit limits.
Establish and monitor customer credit limits in accordance with company policies and risk tolerance.
Maintain accurate customer credit files and supporting documentation.
Recommend credit holds, limit adjustments, or other risk mitigation measures when necessary.
Monitor customer credit exposure and identify potential risks proactively.
Monitor the AR Aging Report proactively to identify high-risk accounts with deteriorating financial health.
Auditing proof of delivery (POD), bill of lading (BOL), and rate confirmations to ensure invoices match.
Verifying disputed fees such as lumper, waiting time, tailgate, redelivery, e.tc.
Investigating short-pays, unauthorized deductions, and overcharge claims to recover leaked revenue.
Proactive A/R audits to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), prevent revenue leakage, and ensure that disputes are identified and resolved before they age into bad debt.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated work experience in Collections, Risks and Management in the Trucking industry
A degree or diploma in Business or Finance/Accounting is required or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Strong knowledge of Financial Risk Assessment required
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
Strong computer skills required
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to listen and provide effective and timely feedback
Ability to work effectively, efficiently and courteously with other staff
Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
Ability to work in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines
Ability to operate a personal computer
Ability to rapidly learn and perform tasks related to the department or units regulations, policies, rules, functions, procedures, or processes
Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
