THE OPPORTUNITY

We currently hiring for the role of Senior Structural Drafting and Design

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews project standards and specifications, design instructions.
Communicates and interfaces with other project design and engineering teams
The Draftsperson is responsible for preparing working drawings of skids, cranes, structural supports, and other design drawings
Will work hand in hand with the shop representatives to build a detailed library for shop reference assemblies
Reports to the design Supervisor lead about the status of the design activities
Supports in identification of deviations in job scope, estimation of changes and notices
Excellent understanding and knowledge of structural assemblies including skids, cranes, piping supports, and many other structural components
Extensive knowledge of welding details/ symbols
Checking the work of, and assisting in training of Jr. design associates
Must be able to accurately check all structural drawings required by production
AutoCAD and 3D modeling CADWorx
Strong attention to detail, good interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced TEAM environment
Hardworking and able to handle multiple tasks
OT may be required to meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

A diploma in drafting from a recognized institute (eg: SAIT, NAIT or equivalent), or suitable alternative experience is required
4+ years’ experience in Structural Design
