Job Title: Social Media Editor — Short-Form Content

Location: Remote (Canada-friendly · global OK)

Job Type: Contract · per-project freelance · path to part-time + full-time

The Role

AdVerse is hiring a Social Media Editor. You cut every reel against our SOP-driven Video Production Format Guide · TOF (entertain) · MOF (educate) · BOF (convert). Each format has 6+ craft pillars. You honor the 2 impact points the Creative Director documented. You don't ship phone-grade slop · you ship cuts that perform organically and convert when scaled to ads.

About AdVerse

AdVerse is a multi-million dollar marketing + production engine for premium hospitality and emerging high-attribution brands across Montreal, Toronto, and select expansion markets. We run a pod-based model · 5-person production teams each serving 10 client brands at flagship-level quality. We just refreshed our model with a new pricing structure, ICP-selective sales, and pod hiring across all 5 roles.

Responsibilities

· Pre-edit gate discipline · check all 7 items (CO received · hook · CTA · impact points · etc.) before timeline opens · escalate if missing

· TOF cuts · 7-15s · pattern interrupt in 1.5s · 0.5-1.3s avg cut · hook-led entertain

· MOF cuts · 30-60s · topic clarity in 2s · text hierarchy · value-led educate

· BOF cuts · 15-45s · offer/receipt in 2s · hard CTA time-bound · convert-focused

· Honor impact points in every cut · note timecodes in submit notes · senior bounces if not honored

· Friday delivery deadlines · PDF preview uploaded to our production OS for senior approval

Requirements

· 3+ years editing for social-first content · TikTok / IG Reels / YouTube Shorts

· Premiere or DaVinci proficiency · portfolio of social cuts

· Understanding of TOF vs MOF vs BOF craft differences (we'll test in interview)

· Comfortable with Frame.io / Drive review workflows

· Fast turnaround capability · 3 business days raw → first cut

· Doesn't try to be cinematic when the brand needs phone-native engaging

The Path · Freelance → Part-Time → Full-Time

Stage 1 · 1-2 weeks paid freelance trial in our currently-running pod · real brand · real deliverables. Stage 2 · part-time retainer with consistent delivery. Stage 3 · full-time conversion for the editor who wants to commit.
