A&B Sound

A&B Sound was a fun filling family style place to work where everyone gave and left with a smile. I have great memories from my years spent with this company and only left as I knew they were about to go out of business. 

The company had a very high return customer base and I think it was due to our environment we had created for our consumers. I really learned how to slow down a sale and developed a complete buying experience for the consumer. I also learned a great deal about inventory as the sales staff were responsible for it, often even handling the shipping and receiving. 

I'll keep it short as they are no longer around but I know most of the staff they employed miss the days we spent together and I know the consumers also really miss this Western Canadian organization.

Back in the 1970s I worked for A&B sound for a number of years. What a great sales and management learning experience that company was. The Steiner family was very respectful of their staff and Report was excellent in all departments. Those were the days when we transition from LPS to CDs and it was fun listening to the JBL Paragon system and the JBL 4350 s pumping them out through a crown amplifier. The good old days!

The business is no longer operating due to the fact it was purchased by a larger company that did not really want to run a smaller company, but the years I worked for A&B Sound were some of the happiest of my entire life.

Nothing too surprising here.  working in a retail music store isn't the most demanding job, but it was here I learned the importance of customer service.  Listening to a customer and recommending something to them only to have them come back and thank you and buy more was always rewarding.

making sure departments were merchandised and tagged properly, helping staff close sales, train staff on new products, hold daily meeting, learned to manage and motivate a very young sales staff, it was enjoyable coming to work everyday.

The company is no longer in business.  The management were understanding and friendly or able to approach easily.  All the departments were pretty good.

Awesome team environment, great opportunities to advance, great perks for working there, good culture. Lots of training in all aspect of job and encouragement to grow and be better

Was my favourite job ! Now all jobs seem to lack fun . All about making the corporation rich . This job was one of my first , didn’t pay much but got great employee discounts. Five star

It was a great place to work.  Very fun environment. Too bad it close it's doors.  :( Great audio equipment. Awesome discounts and benefits!

It is no longer in business but it was a fun place to work there was no money in the company. It was run poorly from the top
