not one time in my working period did i ever get any positive reinforcement, same goes for the other A.P.E employees i worked with. they never seemed to know what was going on with my work life even though they claimed to be in constant contact with my syncrude leaders. taking time off was an absolute pain and i was made to feel guilty for wanting to take time off. never heard from management unless they needed something or an incident happened. worker turnaround was high from what i seen both in the trades people and office staff. once covid started i was laid off and trailed along for months with promises to get back to work soon and eventually they just stopped calling and answering calls leaving me with my workboots stuck at the work site with no way to get them back having to buy a new pair and leaving me in a terrible place financially cause of being strung along about getting back to work. i would never tell anyone to get a job here unless its was absolutely necessary and to stay here as small a time as possible. nothing was enjoyable and they way i finished my time there was one of the most unprofessional way ive ever seen a lay off handled

I have only been with this great company for 4 months.  However, I am proud to be part of such an incredible team. The office environment is positive/friendly and the wonderful owners have an open door policy where you are never made feel you cannot approach them on any topic. Being part of a team that creates such an upbeat, positive and comfortable working environment along with owners that show you the utmost respect and that are so involved in the community makes me proud to say I am part of this team.  And it is just that, a team! Everyone works closely together to provide support for one another and always works together to ensure success for all!

If it wasn't for my coworkers with the client I would of left within the first few weeks. Owners/Management are lacking training. Skills are needed for working with human beings.  Don't ask for PPE, you wont get it. You'll be pushed to the client to get it. Owners are unaware of your actual tasks and job.  Poor , poor, poor treatment of employees. If it wasn't for mostly working with the client, you wouldn't be able to function there.  Pay low, vacation none, benefits low, pension is a joke. Treatment of employees is poor. You are just a number. DON'T get sick or hurt there, you'll be punished.  Only stay if you want to make a good impression with the client and get hired.

Only giving a 2 star because the crew I worked with was fantastic as well as the safety guy. I was with APE or 2 years and never once met my supervisor. I've also never heard or spoken to the owner, which from what I hear is a good thing. You are only there to make the company money. After 2 years and ZERO contact from management I think that is abundantly clear. I would take my orders directly from my Syncrude lead what was great because me and him got on well. I never considered myself part of APE nor did they care about me. The pay is OK. It's a stepping stone company to eventually lead you to something better. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't around much longer. 

Management considers their door to always be open for all employees. When needed they are quick to respond to any employee concern. They have qualified safety management and staff to help. The job consists of being embedded within the client base and employees work closely with the client. Vacation is paid out each pay period and benefits are competitive. 
Great growing company to work for, many different areas to gain experience in the trades and well respected.

The worst and least paying company I have ever worked for. Management is an absolute nightmare. Safety and leaders/management don’t listen to a thing the employees tell them AND are extremely rude and inexperienced. They will hire absolutely anyone off the street to put a few bucks in their own pocket. I would be extremely ashamed if I was a company that hired A.P.E for contract work  

Also benefits Are next to nothing.

I have been with APE for 2 years and I appreciate the management having an open door policy.  It allows the employees to express any concerns or Ideas and they are always respectful and welcoming. 

My hard work has never gone unnoticed and I always feel appreciated and involved.  I highly recommend this company! 

I had a short stint working with a.p.e at one of there clients sites. Office staff came off as rude. Have to ask client for p.p.e, do all your own paperwork/timesheets. Employees were good to work with but they all felt the same frustration.

Pay was OK, no overtime on compressed work week.

If you need the money might be okay job for awhile but dont look for any longterm gains whatsoever .

This was the most toxic work environment I ever experienced. The women in the building were bullies, made me very uncomfortable and were very disrespectful if I messed up. The owner was the worst of them all, she constantly spoke down about other employees, was very negative and had no idea what confidentiality meant.. never request a day off or you'll be yelled at.

Management/owners are the worst. You're treated as a number, not an employee. None of your concerns are taken seriously, management only care about making money and treat employees with no respect. The client is good to work for, overtime available for but the actual company is basically a placement agency that doesn't care about employees.
