ABERDEEN GARDENS RETIREMENT RESIDENCE

A typical day for me was to go around the residents' rooms (the list that was given to me) and talk to them. Make sure they are enjoying their stay and perhaps bring about some physical and brain stimulation. We went to the games room, walked around, went into the garden for some tea/ coffee. Went to the gym,etc. I learned that every resident is different and the same methods will not work for everyone. The workplace culture was very singular. There wasn't much diversity and that is probably one of the challenges they deal with as a company. The hardest part of the job was when the resident would tell me to leave them alone. The most enjoyable part was to see them happy and then ask me to come back and do not forget because it is the  light of their day.

Terrible work environment with short staffed issues ALL the time.  HR is a joke, and the place is falling apart.  You will have the experience of coming into work to find that someone has called in sick meaning you'll have to do the job of two people.  It happens frequently.  Some staff do a half assed job and their coworkers have to go and do extra work before being able to do their own job.

I absolutely loved working at Aberdeen Gardens. Great management, team members and environment.
The only reason I left was because I had been there for 4 years, wanting to advance, but structurally, there was no where for me to go.
I had to move on in order to move up.

If I could rate job culture 0 stars I would have, can be a very toxic environment. Not all management an issue but many are unprofessional, disorganized and not supportive. Can be quite relaxed when it comes to proper treatment of employees and how employees treat and interact with others. Not progressive workplace culture.

The residents are lovely and most of the employees/co-workers are caring and supportive; in the summer the head company sends employees on a summer fun day.

I have been working with Aberdeen for almost 3 years and its been a great experience. It felt like a home. Best management I have ever been with. Staff is so supportive and caring. Managers are always being supportive and motivating us.

Everyone is very supportive and helpful. They value you as a human being and always ready any advancement you are seeking. Love working there. Never felp helpless while working there.

Happy atmosphere where everyone is dedicated to doing their best for the incredible residents. Upper management really cares about the staff, managers and residents.

Loved caring for residents and working along side some amazing care staff.

Each day was different which made it very interesting and enjoyable for me.

I learned patience and empathy from the residents.

Wages weren't the greatest , hard to get raises
