Typical day at work for these guys is 12 - 15 hours which is their ideal.  Their m.o. is to push you until you drop. You will be basically doing ATM maintenance which for anyone who doesn't know, they require constant maintenance, with cash jams and equipment failures.  So guess what?  You will be run absolutely ragged all over h***s half-acre and it will never be done, or enough.  There will always be some reason that what you are doing isn't good enough to get a pay rise even after years of hard working service, and they will not hire enough people to meet the demand. 
Trust me.
I learned a lot with these guys, repaired many ATMs, Point of sale devices, PCs and laptops.  So there is lots of experience to be had.  Just don't expect fair treatment or compensation.
The managers are your typical high-functioning sociopaths who will lie and manipulate you to get what they want.  All while making sure you feel like you aren't good enough, while you work long hours, and long weeks, without the long pay.
Workplace culture.. well you are basically in a car all day on your own running from place to place and if you stop to take a Sh** your dispatcher will call you to see why you aren't at the next call yet.  This will also happen when you are on difficult calls, they will push you to exhaustion.  
The hardest part of the job is getting up on day 11 of the 11 on and 3 days off schedule and realizing you have to do it all again on monday.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when you find something else and quit.  They might offer you a piffly raise then, but don't take it.

They are the very definition of what a parasite is in nature - In the business realm. They serve no purpose but to latch onto hosts (clients) which they use to latch onto new hosts (contractors) all the while sucking the blood of industry (money/liquidity) out of both while offering no beneficial asset to either

 The complete lack of professionalism among the staff leaves me to the conclusion that there is no proper supervision or authority among them, and that they are allowed to run amock while field staff struggle to interpret their intentionally vague, passive-aggressive comminique's. They leave intentionally vague instructions/wrong instructions which are then corrected last minute, with the blame placed on the client.

I strongly recommend anyone considering working with ABM reconsider, I especially recommend any business considering using ABM to farm out work, reconsider. They will bog down any project they get their hands on and place the blame on either side when their poorly executed middle-man operation throws a wrench in the gears of progress.

I am someone who left the company, and has returned. I left due to family commitments. 
I can honestly say the company has made some positive changes. Senior and middle management are more concerned with keeping employees workload manageable. For instance, our team suggested a change to our schedule to make everyone happier. It was implemented, and supported.
I feel blessed to have the security that ABMIS provides. So many of us have to travel far and wide to find work. With ABMIS, you have steady work in your own community.
I have worked in field service for over 20 years. If you are someone who wants to work, you will find a lot of it at ABMIS.

The company has been around forever and makes money but seems to lack the insight of where they should be investing- in their technicians and dispatchers. Instead the company gives impressive sounding positions to it's office staff which only further discourages the field staff because they never advance as the company advances and then have to watch as the office staff pat themselves on the back with awards and promotions.
It truly will suck the life out of a person.

I have been with ABM for a few years now and in that time I have had the opportunity to work with committed, dedicated and highly motivated employees. The field services division of the company is treated like mindless peons. You're expected to be available 24 hours a day to fix even the most mundane of issues. Your well being, rights, and employment conditions are only whats guaranteed by law and only if you forcefully remind management of said laws will they be that good. 

Thoroughly unenjoyable excepting the customers. They're what keeps you going.

I worked on a phone-based dispatch system for ABMIS, which included answering, screening and forwarding calls, and recording and relaying information. I dispatched technicians to the appropriate sites based on their locale and work-load. My management was very compliant and were flexible where ever possible. My co-workers were agreeable and willing to help. At any one time I would multi-task between 15-20 items. It was a fast-paced, and at times very hectic, work environment that demanded focus and organization.

I was hired a few months ago as a Field Technician working out of Bathurst, NB. The managers are knowledgeable and great to work with. We service a lot of tech equipment so you learn something new every day. ABMIS has compensated me for any training I was offered to take to keep up with technology. There is often overtime available which is nice for the increased income. As a Field Technician we work rotating shifts (working evenings once a month). I personally prefer that type of schedule.

After sticking out a few years during this company's revamping, I'm happy to say there is a culture change and a unified vision coming together. A lot of great people work here and are trying their best to help build a positive and enjoyable workplace. I'm very fortunate that I have a boss that deeply cares about my needs and my success as an employee. 
You definitely get what you put into this company, it's important to show your worth and prove yourself/your capabilities.

Micro managed, and the senior leadership has no clue how to run a service company. Managing VP is only concerned about statistics, and always seems to miss the point. They are substandard in just about every way. Zero external training, zero direction. Employees are treated like slaves, and plans / direction is not shared with them at all. Do what we say...don't dare ask why. Terrible experience.
