Awful place to work hr is awful at responding to calls and emails which cost me my job there . Could care less since everyone who's worked there for 15+ years said they've received one raise since the company's opened I moved up and never received a raise or even a review after my 3 months they also decided to stop letting people come in early on Monday 6 am instead of 7am once the minimum wage changed giving pretty much no opportunity for overtime cause it's paid after 44 hours . Awful place to work make you feel welcome at first till you realize how corrupt it is and that no one that the play you from the start making you think there's a possibility to make more money .. no one makes over 16$ a hour in this factory even the people who have been there for almost 20 years.  Overall not a very good place to work and lots of people that make fun of others behind there back ... Anyone who works there would tell you the same .. ABS=DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR LIFE/FAMILY

ABS Friction in Guelph, was an ok job to have, i liked the people i worked with, the job i was doing was fun, until they put me on Lines End, i was to do it for a week and i stayed on for 4 weeks, i was paid more for the one week and then dropped back to reg catching wage for the 4 weeks after, i was not happy at all, abs is a very confusing place to work in, its not organized well, things are all over the place and floor, i tripped over skids and ran into people there was no room in our area.

Used a machine to attach parts to a break pad
Had to meet a quota everyday - 300 sets (1 set is 4 pads)
Was a friendly atmosphere
Extremely hot in the summer due to no AC allowed on floor because it would ruin the break pads
Had to wake up at 5 AM to head to work due to summer hours
Depending on your position in the work place you were to stand for 4 hours straight, the attachment area was sit down

I was part of the Customer Services team for two years. The environment was really good, everyone was positive and friendly. I really enjoyed working with customers with unique need, and located all over the world. As a mom of a young child, I always felt supported by the management team. ABS was an excellent learning experience.

The owner is a very selfish crook. All upermangment is a joke. Nothing but suits and dress shoes that don't actually know how their own factory operates. Completely filthy and crawling with roaches. No one is appreciated and the job security is non-existant. Will remain on contract without benefits for years.

I cant tell you what its like now, but when I was there it was adequate. 
Dirty job (as expected) They certified me on machinery and promoted me to Shipping/Receiving in a short amount of time being there. I sure hope the pay is better than it was.

Overall great experience. Friendly co-workers. Great work environment. All Canadian, family owned business. CEO is very caring to staff. Great experience. 

There was nothing hard about this job, worked in different positions for this job and had a good learning experience. The environment in this company was really good, everyone was positive and friendly.

This was a good experience.  Working in a factory but had issues such as dirty working enviornment.

Ran car brake part grinders for cars

did the paint line for parts

did the wheelabrator to clean car parts

Lots of flexability. lots of holidays. no problem getting time of.
no raises ever and benefits are not the best. have to take long wknds which forces you to use vacation pay or not get paid.
