I had a wonderful experience working at Acclaim.  The team is very supportive and do not micromanage the staff. They have great work tools and training. Sadly,  I left Acclaim so that I could gain experience managing LTD claims (which was not possible for me to do at the time I was working there). I would not hesitate to work there if you are trying to decide. I have worked in a few companies managing disability and rehab claims. Acclaim is at the top of my list as the best place to work. I have nothing but positive things to stay about this company. 
 

The training was good, but the work is too stressful.-You manage  a high case load of short term claim cases, like a production line! I really wanted to stay and develop in the ACM role , but it was just too stressful, fast paced and demanding claims admin & claimants. 
If you worked in claims you will be shocked with this role and it’s expectation. If you have a  background in medical, you will despise this role! Move with caution, not worth my time. With  Covid we workers have options, with the amount of jobs out there! Good luck 

During my time working at acclaim, I felt unappreciated. The workload is high and pay is very low compared to other insurance companies. They use poor interns to the max and offer them really low wages with the knowledge that they’ll likely take it as it’s their first job.
Lack of proper training, HR is very intimidating and does not  care. She lacks empathy and unable solve issues when needed. She was actually one of the main reasons I left.

Acclaim is a great place to work.  Flexible hours and accommodating management.  A company where their employees are valued and recognized with ample opportunities to be promoted from within if desired.  
Acclaim is not a super large company and therefore corporate culture is important to management as they always want to make sure all the staff are happy with their jobs.  In the end, your co-workers end up feeling more like family than just co-workers.

•	Negotiated service proposals, with core involvement in drafting contract agreements, ensuring that products & services met all compliance and legislation requirements.
•	Cultivated collaborative working relationships with cross-departmental colleagues and strategic partner.
•	Strategically leveraged auditing practice to illustrate corporate value proposition and industry benchmarks

This was my second last placement in my program. It was the opposite of front-line work as I sit in front of a computer all day reading files and imputing information to see who is eligible for which particular claims. It was an interesting experience because I got to see behind the scenes of mental health - medical documents, consent forms, liability etc.

Great place to start if you're looking for a job in this industry and want steady income. Should analyze the market in ways to become a great company, maintain competitive in this industry etc.

Easily the worst place I’ve ever worked The expectations are too high. They will work you until you’re sick and then not let you take sick time. They have zero clue what they’re talking about, and expect you to pretend to be a doctor and challenge people when they’re at their worst.

Do not waste your time with this company if you like helping workers, if you like health and a job well done because you will feel that profit is what counts above all, not you and your expertise.
