I had the wonderful privilege of working with the firm for 16 months as an Investment and Sales Analyst (Intern), and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I've grown considerably, and I genuinely learned something new every day within my role! I would highly recommend the firm and would be open to other positions within the company upon my graduation.

My work as part of the Property Management department was one of variety, challenges and especially a feeling of camaraderie.  
In the P.M. Department we were a small group that relied on each other to insure that the building was in good working order and the needs of the staff were taken care of in a timely manner. 
Management did a great job of providing a cohesive atmosphere through out the entire company. 
The hardest part of my job was handing in my retirement notice. 
I've had the pleasure of working for a few great companies over my 45 years of employment but my time at AIC was by far my most enjoyable and fulfilling.  
 
  

I completed a 13 month internship at Portland Investment Counsel (a company within AIC Global Holdings). It was a very friendly work environment, with many opportunities to speak with incredible and impressive industry figures. 
The work itself was a good balance between challenging and engaging. I always felt that if I was stuck, I could talk through a solution with the team. I was able to learn constantly with both independence and supportive management.
The company is structured in a way that allows opportunity for advancement and constant development. It was a great step for my career and a company I would happily come back to.

Quiet environment
Worked 9-5 with 1/2 hr lunch
Learned how to compile financial statement binders for various small companies
Very particular management styles - VERY stern with energy conservation
Long term employees with valuable knowledge
Errors should be kept to a minimum
Teaching styles are quite different than other employers
Enjoyed learning about funding for an investment company
Management want all accounting staff to be CPAs

Throughout my time at Portland Investment Counsel, what’s really stood out to me is the depth of industry expertise and the incredible mentorship that’s built into the culture. The team here is full of people who not only know the ins and outs of the investment world but are always willing to share their knowledge. Whether it's through informal chats, team meetings, or just day-to-day collaboration, there’s a constant exchange of ideas and insights that helps everyone grow. 



I enjoyed my time working at AIC Global Holdings immensely. The employees are very kind and always made a point to say hello every morning. The environment was encouraging and happy to answer questions if/when they arose. They also were happy to hear any suggestions on how to make the project better and encourage this time of collaboration. It was fast-paced and exciting work.

Loved working with everyone at AIC Global Investment. The people were wonderful as well as the Management. Felt like a family firm. Everyone views were taken into consideration.

Management and Human resources were excellent at AIC Global. As well as the accounting team. 
I learned a new software Microsoft Great Plains as well as the preparation of notes for financial statements.
