ALTA GENETICS

It is difficult to make this assessment because the company is very good and so are the staff.
I really like the level of expectation of deliveries and how I have the day practically free from meetings, so I can really focus on my tasks. However, sometimes it is necessary to have more meetings, such as planning and daily, but I see that the company is evolving a lot in project management.
Another thing that bothers me a little is the lack of openness to using new technologies. It is understandable that the company's focus is not software development and that the important thing is to "have things working well", but even what already works well could work much better with some technology improvements.
Furthermore, I am pleased to work at this company and for the support that the managers gave me when I needed 

Great place to work with a great culture.  Lots of long term employees, which to me means they are doing something right.

Very welcoming environment.  They take the time to learn about your personal life, like what your kids names are and what you like to do outside of work.

Great communication at every level.  Company goals are communicated and understood by employees.  Employees are empowered to grow and develop their skills.

Lots of fun activities and recognition events for employees.  

Compensation and benefits are cometitive.

They try to use agriculture rules to a warehouse environment. They try to hide behind rules for two different industries and sabotage good workers. You have to work with two different mind sets and it does not always work. If your looking for a career in dairy cows and genetics, then this might work for you. If you are a supply chain person, you will find this place frustrating.

Do as I say, not as I do. any good leader would lead by example.
SOP's written by people that don't know livestock.
name changes for days (alta, Urus, peak) 
Belittling of employees.
Micro managing.
Stressful without the bulls. 
Zero room to grow unless your a brownnoser.
Try it out if you want, I'm just sayin. 


Alta has a unique culture that has the feel of a close knit group but benefits of a corporation. I have personally received a lot of support within my department and from other departments.  I am proud to be a part of the Alta team and recommend it to anyone who would like to be a part of a great, hard working group.

Good peers to work with, supervisors vary from competent to not qualified. Management treats people like they are disposable. They do not promote from within. Brown nosers are welcome, independent thinkers are not.

Great place to work. Collaborative staff and supportive management. Company has great measurable performance reviews. Very good benefit program and bonuses.

Management is absolutely terrible in the beef program, the manager is verbally abusive, explosive and unstable, its a shock he has been employed for as long as he has. Would never recommend to work here to anyone.

The most disorganized, cliquey, nasty place.  They will go on and on about their culture, yada, yada.  They lie and will stab you in the back the second you turn around!  

I have never seen so many 2 faced people in one Company.  Client Services is THE WORST!!

If you have another choice, choose it.  You will not fit in here, unless you are hand picked by a current employee.  They are all narcissistic, arrogant and cruel.  Client Services is the WORST!!!
