Coming to work with Aspen was the best decision I have made in my career to date. Culture is incredibly important to me, as is an alignment with my values, and I have found that (and more!) here. From the very first interaction in the interview process through to the day to day environment in the office, people are kind, respectful, warm, and easy to work with. It is fun to come to work, and I now look forward to it again for the first time in a very long time. Management is supportive, empowering, and seems to genuinely care for their employees and partners. People are fair, and I’ve been given opportunities I’ve not had before in my career – and this group is one of the most fun I’ve had the pleasure of working with. New people are welcomed in fast, and made to feel like a part of the team from day one. Your work, presence, and personality will be valued here. 

Not only is the culture and work environment best in class, the properties are too. It’s so apparent Aspen cares a great deal about their buildings and tenants, and does whatever possible to offer the most comfortable and professional experience. The benefits are the best I’ve ever had, and a healthy work life balance is encouraged (and lived!) by all members of the organization. Further to that, I am a minority (and a woman), and have not once felt an ounce of discrimination or misogyny here – which is very unique given this industry. This is honestly the best place I’ve ever had the opportunity to work, and I can see myself happily being here for many, many years to come. 

Aspen has a very productive and efficient team. They take pride in their image and, therefore, set a very high standard when it comes to client relationships and processes, and I love that about them.
Working for them, however, is arguably challenging not because it's a difficult job per se but mostly due to their internal team environment. I found it to be cliquey and "mean girl"-ish with lots of incoming passive aggressive remarks from middle management. This made each day of work unnecessarily stressful and tense. 
I also did not enjoy their open space office which offers zero privacy and makes it impossible to escape hearing constant whispering between the close-knit team members which is distracting and adds to the overall feeling of being unwelcome. 
I'm glad I am no longer with Aspen, because I clearly did not fit in, and I find myself happier with another team of more relaxed but equally efficient workers.

The company culture at Aspen is by far the worst I've ever worked in. There is a core clique of employees, across all departments, that bully those they don't like or those that don't share the same opinions. The gossip and whispering that goes on in the office couldn't be more childish. The open floor plan makes it impossible to get any privacy. Normally this wouldn't be such a negative thing however they constantly watch your every move and publicly shame you in front of your peers. Senior management awards the behavior and removes those that don't fall in line. They preach their company culture and entrepreneurship however it's quite the opposite. Little to no support for career growth and mentorship. Pay is subpar compared to industry standard. Really difficult coming in as a new employee which results in high turnover. Discussions with HR and Management are never in confidence and will be used against you at a later date.

At first everything is roses and then their true colours shine. Middle management is nothing but “mean girls” and gossipers. If you are friends with them your life there will be great, if not, they make life there a nightmare. Very cliquey and not welcoming, those that have been there for years stick together and do not welcome anyone new in. This is tough when you have a COO that fosters this environment and trickles down to HR and middle management where there is constant whispering and belittling. 

They acknowledge there is a culture problem but do absolutely nothing to fix it and allow suggestions to fall on deaf ears. 

You eventually just lose all hope of change, feel defeated and lose all motivation. 

I started working at Aspen after two toxic workplace environments. Before starting at Aspen, I was starting to think that work had to be unpleasant. Then I started at Aspen, I was welcomed by the entire team and became fast friends with all my co-workers. Despite the workplace being high paced, my co-workers are always willing to support my growth and teach new skills no matter how busy they are. The interview process is intimidating since you meet with multiple people from the organization including the Executives, however, it is intended to ensure the person fits with the culture and the team.

Aspen treats employees with respect, flexibility and values their team members. Aspen is family oriented and encourages professional growth within their organization. Benefits promote health, wellness, and are above average. They offer annual family company events along with team building events, that you are paid to attend - huge bonus! Fast paced environment with lots of collaboration across departments. They are open to trying new ideas and you can expect to move quickly. Longer interview process to ensure that it is a right fit for you and for them. Highly recommend Aspen as an employer!

I LOVED working here. The staff and management are so supportive, and the culture is incredibly inclusive. The training is thorough and ongoing and complimentary for future advancement. I found the salary more than fair compared to similar roles with other companies in the area. Would’ve loved to have continued working here if not for my family relocating.

Sometimes others want you to do more with them doing less. There can also be this mindset of not feeling included in certain things

Overall it’s great and not to toxic.

Aspen properties is a funny company, they are trying to be something special but it is quite the opposite! The interview process is something as well. So many useless interviews and questions. Even the CEO is involved with the interview process, what a JOKE! I would never recommend this company to anyone! 

No upward mobility. They try to sell you on having many tenured employees as a testament to this amazing company culture - really these people are just comfortable with their career and salary not growing. Everyone who wants to get paid what they’re worth ends up leaving the company.
