During my short time at Atlas, I witnessed very high turnover. As a new employee, you’re still learning where everything is, and it takes longer to complete tasks. However, at Atlas, people are let go if they don’t perform at the speed of more experienced employees.

If your Crane Certification is expired they do not allow you to use the crane. Instead, they’ll find a younger, trained worker to move your materials. I, like many others, was never told I wasn’t working fast enough and was let go without notice. There was poor leadership on the shop floor with no clear communication about expectations or timelines for completing tasks.

I was let go for not being fast enough, with no prior indication that I was underperforming. This happened to several others during my brief time there, and employees were escorted out without warning.

If you want to use the crane, you have to come in on your day off, pay for the crane course, and you’re not compensated for that time.

For B Pressure Welders, you’re asked to sign a form stating that if you quit before 6 months, they will deduct $350 for the job test and $250 for the first-day training from your final pay cheque.

I would strongly recommend against working for Atlas.


I can honestly say I enjoy my job here. The company places a real emphasis on professional growth, which has allowed me to take on new challenges and learn at a pace that has truly advanced my skills.

Management rarely gives clear direction, so most days feel like guesswork. Expectations change constantly, communication is all over the place, and decisions are often rushed or barely explained. There’s almost no focus on employee development, and career growth feels like an afterthought rather than an actual priority.

ATLAS Oil & Gas operates in a highly structured, compliance-driven environment where expectations are clear but demanding. The workload can be intense, and flexibility is limited. Communication is formal and top-down, leaving little room for feedback. While the company offers stability and industry exposure, the culture may feel restrictive for those seeking adaptability or work-life balance.

For a manufacturing facility there is very little coordination, while information provided and most processes are poorly organized. The majority of the space is in complete disarray, as well as equipment, tools and materials are scattered.

Would not recommend if you have an alternative.

From the start, communication was vague and inconsistent. Despite our clear agreement, they failed to deliver what was promised. When I raised my concerns, I was met with excuses instead of solutions. I felt dismissed and unvalued as a client. Very disappointing experience overall.

for the short time i was there it was fast pace but you quickly get in to the rhythm. Great crew leads and foreman and co workers. 
the co workers that i had the pleasure of working along side where very experienced and had a lot of knowledge that another Prentice or j man could learn from

I have worked at atlas for a couple years and really enjoy it. The work is consistent, the pay is really good, safety is taken seriously and PPE is supplied. Great group of guys to work with. 

Good guys on tools, management needs work. Shop is close to city. Interesting projects. Had seen a lot of people come and go in my brief time there. With better management there is potential.
