3 CEO's in 6 years.
Leadership is upper-management focused and not operations itself.
If you and others enjoy your day at work, management sees it as slacking off even if work is done correctly and on time. 
Lean is a big thing in the company, mostly in the bottom line and reduction of staff.
The turnover rate is high.
Training is half a day and then onto the job.
If someone has a desk or an office good luck getting them out of there to help or give advice.
The hardest part of the job is the drama. Very gossipy. 
There is plenty of miscommunication between sales and production then never get fixed and the same issues happen year after year even if they hire new people, they are allowed to make the same mistakes.
Opportunity for advancement is slim, kissing up helps. Yes sir, yes ma'am are preferred.
Cross-training between departments is expected in production in case one department is backed up instead of hiring enough staff or having the right equipment in place.
Be prepared for the bus, as you can at any time be thrown under the bus by coworkers or management. Always looking for a scapegoat instead of a way to improve or fix the situation.
The work between branches as they are in different provinces as well is not the same. What one branch does is not the same as the other. Be it from sales to purchasing to procurement to shipping.
Paperwork is a mess, the paper trail is worse.
Safety is a major push at the company, even though daily there are many small things done that wouldn't be considered safe but are done anyways because its the way it has been done for a long time.
Very cliquey even though everyone is supposed to be as one there are many groups in the building, not to mention branches hating on each other.
The benefits are poor. Medical, eye, dentist, and some special things are lower than most. But they did get the cost of the benefits package down. So that helps the Bottom line.
No bonuses for operations, big bonuses for sales, and management. 
Constantly restructuring the company internally be it for financial reasons or to move people around to let people go.
Harassment and bullying have happened, from upper management down to laborers.

A typical day consisted of processing quotes and orders. They were taken by phone, email, or through walk-ins. Multitasking was essential - as you would be jumping from task to task consistently at a fast pace. This pace would lead to items being missed and in need of correction. The training on policies and procedures, and the products they sell - is minimal. You will be expected to learn much on your own; sink or swim. Policies and procedures are not clear and often change week to week. Little is in writing. Whether intentional or not, your colleagues may provide you with incorrect information on processes and products. I imagine this is due to lack of training and formal written procedures. As there are not many clear policies and procedures it makes sense that it would be difficult to implement as a manager.  The training for SalesPad was provided and was helpful. The program itself is easy to use, however, there are many different SKUs for the same products and the pricing was often out of date and in need of verification. There are a lot of steps through SalesPad in order to process quotes and orders. There seems to be a disconnect between those higher up in the company, and those working on the front lines. It would be wise for them to create a training program (or programs) so that they not only have consistency but have more confident staff; who are less likely to gossip and tear each other down due to insecurity. This job turned out to be very stressful. I dreaded going into work and often feared for my job.

A typical day at work began at 8:00 am helping customers with their orders, processing quotes, general invoicing, completing P.O.S transactions,answering phones and making sure all orders are processed in a timely fashion.
I learned a lot about customer service and how to be efficient in a busy fast paced environment. Organizational skill are a must along with patience and excellent communication skills.
Management I feel, needs much improvement. Communication seems to missing where it is most important. I feel it is important to have good communication in the workplace in all areas to help keep an even flow going.
I was lucky to have a great group of people around me in my area. We worked well together, helped and supported each other when we needed it and tried hard to keep the communication going as much as possible. We were like a little family in someways.
The hardest part of the job was keeping the morale up. If you have a mixed group of people but the majority is negative it is tough to keep your head up and put your best foot forward each and every day. But I do like a challenge.....
The best part of my job was my customers. Once I built a great relationship with them and an understanding of their needs it was a very enjoyable experience. I found myself going above and beyond to assist them or help them with any requests they had of me. The company was also wonderful at times to recognize your efforts and strengths. Positive reinforcement goes a long way in any workplace whether it's from one co-worker to another or from your boss.

Some management changes have caused a rift in the company, they are all about numbers and pushing to hit those targets rather than looking at the whole picture and trying to keep good employees within the company. 
Everyone is expendable even if you committed years of your life to get the company to a better place, you constantly hear that they trust employees and want to do what's right but those items remain to be seen. 
if you go above and beyond in any facet to try to get things back on track or pointing in the right direction its then expected to continue that effort with no subsequent pay increases or even to get positive feedback, almost as its expected rather than additional efforts based on your job description. There are some managers who oversee multiple departments and believe that they all operate the same where as the truth is they couldn't be further apart but they doesn't recognize that and expects all to follow within those expectations without hearing or even attempting to understand why it would be un-reasonable. 
The people who have been there for so long started when things were good and have earned themselves a comfy spot, but if you are starting out now, good luck with any sort of ladder climbing or earning a higher position, every management level position gets filled out of house instead of promoting in house, which in my opinion isn't a good way to keep formerly faithful employees. 

To sum up two years were would I even start. Spent my time as a seasonal employee which was after Bi-Monthly extensions of seasonal employment and after about a year they finally opened up two full time positions after about a year and half of working there. Micromanagement seems to plague that place to its absolute fullest extent. OSS consistently seems to get the short end of the stick from management they'll find any little thing to come after the whole team for and threaten your job. This place doesn't care and thinks very little of their employees absolutely no respect from any management. I do not recommend for any to work here and if you do leave on the next job you get. I have nothing good to say about this place, this place will suck the life out you with the poor work/life balance and the consent demand from supervisors expecting you to take OT. If you do get hired i strongly suggest to never be put on the Oncall schedule but that doesn't matter they'll put on anyway. They used COVID to push out anyone they didn't like. to anyone that wants to move into office roll in this place ill consider you migratory bird because anyone who moves into a office roll here is gone within 3 months DO NOT WORK HERE.

Initially, if you were to get onto a project like Trans Mountain, you’ll enjoy it.  Most of your immediate coworkers seem great.  The best part is the attractive wage at $32 an hour.  Again, that’s project specific and is the only highlight because the rest just goes downhill, and fast.  If you’re a TCP, You’ll be proactive, grateful, and want to show initiative, but once someone takes notice, the supervisors will squash your motivation and tell you to do as your told, nothing more, or they’ll get rid of you.  From my personal experiences, this just shows the low quality of leadership, and more than likely, a fear of these motivated individuals.  Advancements are not an option without making your superiors attack you on a professional level.  You’ll soon realize that you’re disposable at their desire and just a number in their system.  Unless you have close ties with the people in the office, your on the chopping block every day.  The management’s communication is terrible at best, and just a number is not a “figuratively speaking” description. 

Enjoy the roller coaster.  It’s not a long ride so get your money and never stop job hunting.

3. It’s Physically Easy, Mentally Focused
The physical demands are low—you’re mostly standing or using hand signals—but it keeps your mind active. You have to stay alert and react quickly, which keeps boredom at bay.

4. You Meet All Kinds of People
From construction workers to drivers asking for directions, there’s always someone new passing by. Some enjoy the social aspect of quick interactions and feeling part of a team.

5. It Can Feel Peaceful
When traffic is flowing smoothly and you're just standing in the open air with a view of the road and sky, there’s a certain calm and simplicity to it.

But to be fair:
Long hours on your feet.

Bad weather can make it miserable.

Dealing with impatient or rude drivers can be stressful.

The reality of this company is:
1) Poor leadership;
2) Bad management;
3) Shallow culture.
You are not 'an asset to a team', merely someone who can be used and thrown away at the company's convenience. The pay and benefits do NOT compensate for a bad company. You may exist for awhile, or learn to hide in the company, but it will cost you your integrity - as is the example of the supervisors and management. People are afraid to problem solve, plan and take initiative at all levels.

I learned that one person with integrity cannot make a difference and that my skills and experience counted for nothing. The management of my team showed little or no compassion towards their team.

Hardest part of the job was realizing that I was worth nothing in the end and leaving. The physical work was the only enjoyable part. By far one of the most shallow and empty cultures in a company that I have ever experienced.

They are hiring mostly temporary workers with no benifits...the office is a gong show of ill equipped individuals and nepotism is rank and file. They fired all their good people and so they are left with the stragglers.. everyone is working there looking elsewhere for a more sane place to work.
They started out over a year ago quite efficient but then descended into disjointed decisions on many areas of their contracts. The basically fly by the seat of their pants and try to make it work but are losing contracts left and right because of the people do not really respect the way they are treated
Maybe after a while this Alberta company will figure out how we work in BC and again come back to a more logical way of doing business and treating their employees.

Did a maternity Leave Coverage here in Regina area. Was extremely impressed with management - from Local to Head Office.  Love the core values of ATS Traffic - Do What's Right (honest, legal, with integrity moral and ethical)  Our People matter ( this was extremely important especially during Covid -  they were fair compassionate respectful  and open) Trust through teamwork  ( worked as a team from installers, estimators, purchasing, art , csps, it folks) to ensure customer experience was 1st Class !  Lastly- Strive for Excellence ( willing to make changes fast when a problem is identified & goes the extra mile!
