I worked at Abbeylawn for years and unfortunately left due to the corrupt ED at the time. When I heard through the grapevine that they let her go, and that the working environment was 100x better it made me want to come back so bad! The residents and the staff were absolutely amazing. I have kept in touch with many of the staff members who still work there and they are all thrilled with the changes that have been made! I would recommend working there now in a heartbeat! 

The residents made it a great place to work.However there was not enough time in the day to complete all the tasks expected in this position. The position required you to be on the floor taking care of the residents( i.e. med admin, wound care, follow ups, talking to doctors, etc) but you were also expected to be managing a department of people and be on top of other staff who were not in your department.

Underpaid employees for the job expectation. They expect you to work as a nurse but pay you as a PSW. Management is horrible to deal with any issues that arise threaten to fire after 3 declined shifts when you arent scheduled those said shifts even if you're part time or casual. They do not provide a uniform allowance. No wonder this company is a revoling door company.

I worked for this place 7 months it was most disfunctional place i ever worked management dont care about employees or retirees paying there wages . Alot of labour laws broken . I wouldnt recommend working or having family live in this place . Best thing to happen to abbeylawn was director fired.  And management running housekeeping dept now lou lefrance is for the staff and residences.

Any job can be stressful but working here has been a great place to work.  Residents are amazing and the management is easy to approach and talk to about anything.  I feel like all of us, employees and residents are a family.

Management doesn’t care about your life as long as they don’t have to cover your shifts. All fake smiles and laughs. ED is a real a hole. Staff talk behind each others backs. Residents are adorable though. Sad that’s what they live with every day. 

As a whole, Abbeylawn is like a family.  
All our jobs are like a well-oiled machine.  One department flows into another, Nursing, PSW, Dietary aids, Housekeeping and Management of all departments.  

Very good staff and co-workers, a great place for the beginners to start up with. i have learned how to be proactive and learned much about front line customer service.

work would start at 10 , get soup and pureed diets ready and begin lunch ,, then make dinner
nice boss, always reasonable in emergencies, great co workers, 
tedious at times , enjoyed talking to the residence

Its a fun place to work the residents are all great they make the job so much easier. The only thing that isn't great is you will never get full time.
