Action for Healthy Communities

Working at A4HC was stressful. Senior managers provided very little guidance. They expected you to learn your job without training or tools. The HR guidance is minimal. The benefits are OK (health, dental, RRSP matching after the first year) but sick and vacation time are the bare minimum. 

Job security isn’t good because of funding based jobs. A4HC will also apply for funding on programs without any idea on how to sustain it or if they have the resources to do it properly. They want to grow and become a large organization. They just keep burning out staff by adding more work without addressing the issues of lack of training and support for staff.  Most of senior management is also passive aggressive.

this is a non profit organisation where the structure of activities can be changed and tailor made to suit individual instructors and the ultimate goal is results and can be designed to get the recommended outcome.table tennis table is a stress reliever and a tool to bring comraderie among staff .

I appreciated the kindness and support among the staff, but I was dissatisfied with the management and the overall organization. Additionally, I did not feel valued as a team member. The mileage is very low and vacation and sick hours are so minimal. 

One of the best places I have worked so far. Collaborative and supporting culture, focused on clients assets and strengths to build their capacity. Truly community based and responsive to the community needs.

You will be working with your colleagues everyday in office.You can often see your boss in the same suit. You can talk with your boss about how your business is going without any pressure.

Like working in a collaborative environment with great team. Very inclusive and diverse team representing most of the cultures and languages. 
A highly supportive and friendly team always ready to help.

AHC depends too much bureaucracy
There is Some discrimination from the supervisors not important the results but the numbers to report to the government.

Loved working with AHC. Great people. Diverse cultural group. Events were always so warm and loving, and encouraged growth and well-being for all employees.
