**This review is coming from a perspective of a young professional who had a job as mechanical designer at Advanced Material Handling (AMH) as his first professional job coming out of college**


During the time of my employment, AMH was a small size company that has very enthusiastic and determined people. Everyone supported each other, and was given plenty of new opportunities, like working in another department, which promotes career growth.

**AMH Office staff perspective**
Every work place has pros and cons. 
Listed below are the pros and con of the company.

Lets start with the con:
1. Developing Management System - As the company grows really quickly, plenty of new data are created, new projects are made, and more jobs are to be handled. This requires a reliable and efficient management system across each departments. At the time of my employment in AMH however, the management system was still developing to become more reliable and efficient. As an outcome, this occasionally resulted in super rushed projects which could've been prevented if there was a better system to deal with the projects. The company however, has been and is still implementing innovative changes, to make the management system better. As of my experience with the changes, I find that the company is progressing to become more structured and more developed in their system.

2. Slightly Lower Wage compared to average pay - As a mechanical designer that was hired coming out of college, I find the salary and benefit just fair. However, if you are a person looking for really good benefit and higher salary then this may be a con for you. Otherwise, if you also consider other values aside from the salary and benefits you can get from this company, such as the opportunities and chances you get in this company to learn new things, then this may not be too much of a con for you. 

Pros in working for AMH:
1. Lots of Opportunities to Grow - I find that plenty of employees in AMH are given good opportunities to try something new, and improve their skills. As for my experience, I learned new softwares and skill sets. My job title was Mechanical Designer, but I was given the chance to learn things about sales, based on my interest. I had a great mentor, and had enough people to guide me in sales department. It was a completely different world, but I learned a lot and developed new skills in sales. Thanks to the opportunity given to me.

2. Good Mentors and Good Training - As I've mentioned earlier, I had really great mentors from this work place. They really supported me and even ran the extra mile to help me learn what I needed to learn.

3. People at AMH are Human Beings - I asked myself, what makes a work place a good work place? The answer I found after working for this company is: A work place is a good workplace if the people you work with does not just talk about work stuff alone, but are also genuinely concerned about your well being. That is the difference between working with humans vs working with robots. Robots' only concern is to get the job done, and that's it. Humans work, share, show concerns, and support each other. Employees at AMH are humans for sure, including the boss.

4. Company Special events - They have a good Christmas Party, and they have a golf tournament once a year. Its really fun.

5. Your opinions can be heard - due to the current size of the company, everyone has a chance to voice up their suggestions and opinions regarding their concerns about a particular project or system. One way this can be done is through meetings.



Working for AMH was definitely a great experience for me. Though it can be tough sometimes, but for me the pros out weighs the cons.

I would definitely recommend AMH if you are the type of person looking to improve your skills and are willing to work hard to learn new things. They will definitely give you a chance in this work place. It's a good place to work in.

The work environment here is filled with negatives. Poor airflow leads to bad air quality, which is a health hazard. The head manager tells the team to slow down on forklifts but doesn't follow that rule himself. Essential supplies, like abrasives, are often missing during production, and then management gets upset when welders can't complete their tasks due to missing parts. 

During my first toolbox meeting, the head manager expressed frustration about being 60,000 man-hours behind, blaming the team rather than addressing organizational issues. I felt misled from the start due to inconsistencies in my job offer. The manager’s behavior, including yelling and cursing, shows a lack of leadership skills and organizational structure, leading to a hostile work environment. 

Job security is nonexistent, and there’s little transparency. It's not a place I would put on my resume. I wasn't motivated to give my all since management was ineffective. It seems that only brown-nosers can survive long-term here, while skilled employees leave.

Management needs to stop micromanaging and belittling staff. There is no clear code of conduct for operating machinery, and the head manager’s lack of leadership skills will only result in a high turnover of welders. The cost I incurred to buy tools just to start working here shows my initiative, but without recognition, it becomes a loss for the management.

A typical day here moves quickly, which I love—there’s always something happening. I've gained so much knowledge about sales, my position, and even more about myself, with new lessons every day. The management is genuinely the best I’ve encountered—they’re not just supportive and kind but also bring a great sense of humor and encouragement to the table. The culture in the workplace is incredible, making it a great place to work. The biggest challenge is handling the workload when it all comes at once, but with hard work and dedication, it’s totally manageable. I would highly recommend working at AMH :)

The management at this place was extremely disappointing, and I feel like the time I spent working there was completely wasted. There was no proper training or support provided, yet the staff constantly pressured me to work faster and do more. It felt like they just expected me to know everything without taking the time to explain anything. The overall environment was stressful and unprofessional. They’re always hiring welders, but there’s a reason why no one stays longer than a month. I wouldn’t recommend this workplace to anyone looking for a supportive and well-managed team.

Being bullied be little and yelled at by one individual. Who's not suitable to do his job.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
An extremely toxic environment handed down from the top to the botto

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The whole day is freezing cold because we're out all day all year.

If you are a self-starter who works well at a fast-pace, this is an excellent position for you, When I started here, I did not have very much experience in an office environment. However, management did an incredible job to teach me at a pace that worked well for me. At times, I do feel overwhelmed but the people on my team are incredibly helpful and always give me their full support. I am proud of how much I have learned here and there are so many opportunities to continue growing. 

The pay is decent if your a good worker but the fellow employees are ridiculous. A few are ok but a majority are unskilled know it alls who think they are somebody. Tension is extremely thick and I really think it's weird that management literally stares at you ALL day so makes it ocward. One manager just walks around literally all day with a coffee cup complaining about everything but not to you but to the leads about you. 

Nothing enjoyable here....
Management has the wrong people in positions of power. A serious lack of training and oversight. A manager had told me that he had zero former manager training and this person was in charge of how much money people made, hiring and delegating work throughout the shop. 
Like I said this place made me quit my trade which has been a blessing in disguise. I haven't looked back. And so much happier not working here.


They hire when they have work and when they don't have work or loose projects, they don't think twice to lay you off. I have seen people get laid off and fired even before they complete 1-2 months. This company will get rid of you for small reasons. You will have little chance if you work less and talk more. Salaries are very low and they always go for cheaper labour. 

I left a high position role to manage a fabrication team . I have never been around a disorganized culture with an unskilled leader. He has no idea about his job but for some reason he still works there. I came from an ownership position and am skilled in my management skills. He called me out for something that I proved him wrong just for him to walk away without apologizing. Never ever could I recommend working there
