I worked for this company for several years and over time a clear pattern became impossible to ignore. Hard work and initiative often didn’t lead to recognition or fair treatment. Instead, employees who consistently pushed themselves were often expected to take on even more responsibility, while others who contributed far less seemed to be protected or overlooked.

The expectations placed on workers frequently felt unrealistic, especially considering the workload and the limited support available. Rather than addressing these issues, management often shifted additional responsibilities onto the employees who were already carrying the most. This created a frustrating environment where being dependable often meant you were simply given more work instead of being supported or recognized.

Favoritism was also very noticeable. Certain individuals appeared to receive opportunities, promotions, and protection that didn’t seem to reflect their experience or performance. In some cases, roles with significant responsibility were given to people who didn’t appear to have the qualifications or professionalism you would expect, which made the work environment even more difficult for the rest of the team.

The overall culture eventually became very discouraging. When hard work isn’t valued consistently and decisions feel driven by favoritism or desperation rather than fairness or competence, morale suffers quickly. After years of hoping things would improve, it ultimately became clear that the environment wasn’t going to change.

For anyone considering working here, I would strongly encourage asking questions about workload expectations, management support, and how employee performance is actually evaluated before making a decision.

If I could describe working here it would be (Dead end, unfair, unappreciated, overworked, toxic, and VERY dysfunctional)

The cost of living has gone up more than 6% since I started and I was left struggling to pay my bills. Most people who work there have a second job and have to work 6-7 days a week to stay afloat. You will NOT get a raise working there, you will be kept at $16.50 for years. Even if you go above and beyond in every aspect of your job, don’t expect the company to show you that you mean anything to them.
New hires get put on a 6 MONTH contract with 0 days off and no benefits, they can be fired without cause at any time in that 6 months. This combined with poor communication from management and no pay incentive for long-standing employees has created a very high turnover rate for new hires. So now people who have been there for a while get to constantly train new people who are making the exact same wage as people who know all the ins and outs of the entire company. Extremely unfair.
Discouraging, mentally and physically exhausting and very hard on ones’ daily confidence and motivation in the workplace. 

I invested 110% of myself into this organization. I was loyal, hardworking, extremely passionate and team oriented. I was given a promotion and promises. I move my family 3 hours across Ontario to take the position within AgMedica. I took pride in my job and the company I worked for. I built life long friendships and felt so lucky to be amongst such great folks. We believed we were all building something special. I helped develop a lot of their techniques and efficiencies, devoting myself completely to the company that I thought was promising me a bright future. After 1 1/2 years of completely dedication, they let me go, and when they did they left me absolutely no reason why except they were financially restructuring... Empty promises, they have let go of more then 30 hard working employees, with no explanation. At the end of it all I was just a number to them. I would not recommend trusting this company to offer you anything but a broken heart and lies.

There was some rough obstacles that were overcome alongside everyone else in the industry when cannabis became legal for recreational & medical use. No one knew what they had at the time and the market wasn’t fully set for every licensed producer to stay in the industry. 
Agmedica had pushed through that and is looking at expansion the near future with many opportunities opening to advance in the company.
I liked the friendly work environment and the work the higher ups do to exceed expectations on the day to day basis. 
The training is exceptional in a sense that if you don’t know something about a job there is always an opportunity and place for you to go check the specific task. 

They laid me off when the company was going under and couldn’t afford to pay people. They fired me right before my one year mark. Right before my raise. Never called me back but are still posting ads trying to hire people. I lost my job, my place, everything. They ruined a lot of people’s lives. It was a bad atmosphere, bad people, horrible management & they lied to everyone a lot. I have to say the people who carried leadership roles in there should not have been.

I wasn’t there long. The amount of drama was very upsetting and stressful for me . Low morale, very high turnover, and lots of gossip are what you can look forward to here. Forget raises and advancement, you’ll get that only if you’re really close friends and/or family with management. This place has close to no respect for mental health and is really really toxic. Be careful if you work here as a young girl, my boundaries were not consistently respected and management didn’t mind

The company is in CCAA which is financial recovery. The executive team is full of lies and dishonest hope. They do not care about the people that work here. The place is VERY poorly ran, with no structure or real management. The HR department is the worst I've ever seen. The overall moral of the facility is depressing, stressful and disorganized. They start you at $16.50 and promise room for advancement but is unlikely that you'll get a raise or the opportunity to move up. One of the worst places to work.

I was just hired at AgMedica a few months ago and my experience thus far has been delightful. Everyone has been very welcoming and kind. My management team is very accommodating and collaborative. I feel like my voice is heard and trusted. It is a smaller, tight-knit company with regular potlucks and even a social committee. I have complete trust in the executive team and can see their vision of growth for the company.

No matter the effort or the time put in, there is no raises unless you get a higher position, which none are available until one quits, as well as management never works to help catch cultivation up on their work, however they will get upset with them for not being fast enough 

One of my favourite places to work. So much positivity even when it’s hard to hide the bad days. Most of the supervisors and higher ups are very reasonable and will be the first to address any concerns regarding how work is and is not to be carried out. Thanks for the opportunity Agmedica !! Best group of employees to work around.
