too many managers, typical waste of tax payers money and questionable if really assist industry or governments own agenda
Blatant favoritism, the long standing loyal employees treated poorly and reminded often they can be replaced. Seemed the more time you spend as a long term loyal dedicated employee the worse you were valued or treated. Making it so no one should look at his organization as a retirement plan, they will change goals and mandate with each change of government.

Working at AFSC has provided me with lots of hands on knowledge about pastures and pasture research and the importance of their growth and stability. I feel that this summer student position was a very self-driven job which taught me to be disciplined and hold myself to the expected standards of the company. I really enjoyed this job and the people I got the chance to work with and would highly recommend it to other agriculture students.

Some managers make a career out of hiring and firing staff. Some managers micro manage staff that don’t even work directly under them. Don’t expect a salary increase ever!!!
Excellent work being done by staff is not acknowledged by management. 
APPLICANTS BE WARNED, there is always a way for the corporation and managers to weasel around policies and legislation to push employees out of their jobs!

The IT department has come a very long ways in creating a process oriented workplace.  They go to great lengths to communicate changes between departments.

AFSC is a great place to work. work culture and work-life balance is very important. it is fast-paced  too. professional development is key and they encourage it.

Collaborative environment - constant change due to Government changes and restructuring.  Public sector cutbacks are contributing to stress levels and poor morale.

Good people to work with. Management changes with political will.
