I came to work for the company being told a lot of great things like work/life balance, culture and room for advancement.

All of these things were myths.  It existed for a chosen few.  For the bulk of us there was no work-life balance.  There was an expectation of daily overtime where "we'd be compensated later" which never came.

Management decisions were reversed on a whim if one senior person complained.  There was no sense of unity.  It was the "old guard" and the "newbies'.  This did not include the blatant nepotism.

It was a good opportunity to learn the home health care system.  The owner is very well experienced in the field and is a good judge of character when it came to dealing with prospective clients and even the end-users as well as entities that wanted to potentially partner with the company.

The things I love about AgTa is that staff are great, especially the ones I deal with on a regular basis. The hours are flexible enough for my to go to school, schedule appointments or whatever else that comes along. The places that I have been assigned to work, especially in a hospital setting, I have learned so much and gained so much knowledge from the staff there. Though I do not see or speak to the folks in the office on a regular, I am always kept in the loop about the going ons with my client as I do the same and provide information to them. 

The things I do not like about this job is that it doesn't provide any employee benefits, they do not provide any kind of travel expense/reimbursement and there isn't a review in order to get a raise. I think employees who work well and get positive reviews from clients, shouldn't have to ask for a raise.

A fast paced, growing company with a well balanced work environment in the office. Of course there are targets and deadlines as in any job but the management puts a lot of effort in making it fun for the team. There is a lot of emphasis on working as a team to achieve goals. The office staff are vibrant and a lot of fun to work with. Management is supportive and flexible.

The hardest part of the job is trying not to get too emotional when you are hearing the stories of the clients with regards to their health conditions and struggles. You have to always remember that it is your job to help. "Feeling sorry" for someone is not necessarily helpful.

The challenging work pushes you forward professionally and management's recognition of work well done is frequent.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My experience with AGTA, it wasn't great. I was dealing with very bad health issues. They didn’t care. Ended up letting me go. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Taken care of elderly or handicapped is always very stressful. I like the job because like to help people and very rewarding job. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s fine you don’t really deal with Management much because it’s all over the phone reporting to jobs all automated you answer too. That’s the best part of the job. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
They will give an address of where you are going and have all the duties to do. You have a certain amount of time to do it, and then you go onto your next client.

I was given a client and an address. I went there early and the concierge of the building said there was no person by that name and I called my agency. They admitted to an error in address. I was told I could go home. When I left for home I made other plans because the agency was not forthcoming within 90 minutes of the correct address. Two hours later I was asked to go to the client's correct address and I was not able to go and I lost the client. I believe I should have been able to keep the client, and not have it gone to someone else. This is a difference of an opinion on my part.

I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and my clients, i had dealt with a younger generation and felt that i was a mother figure as it was a change from working with seniors.  I really learned to look at their outlook on life and tried to help them as much as i could through my own experiences, with Having my Mental Health First Aide i was able to get them through there day.
It always made me feel good when my client appriciated me and would say you make me feel like im somebody and they were happy and waiting at the door upon my arrival.
The hardest part was having one client who kept trying to close the door on me , which i really felt like i was being trapped and stalked.

The management is terrific in training, the co-works were helpful and respectful. I have learned a lot in terms of account setting, collection and Quick Books software.
The hardest part was that the day was so intense that you have no time for proper lunch or to go to the washroom and that lead to over stress, and also frequently to be assigned with duties not in your job description, or to stay late more then 4 times per week.
The most enjoyable part was that you have chance to learn something new every day.

What is the best part of working at the company?
pay is competitive amongst better agencies.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Managers who drop the ball and blame it on frontliners. The app is pretty annoying but necessary.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
shallow and self-serving despite caring frontline.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
do my visits and hopefully don't need anything from admin or supervision.

Working as a Personal Support Worker is a very rewarding career.  The most rewarding part of your day as a PSW is knowing that you as a person has made a difference in your patients life wither it be big or small it matters. Everyday you learn new ways of dealing with difficult situations. An example would be helping a client who is sad, or is very emotional, you as a PSW learn new ideas that help the client feel better about themselves.

Yet to see anything stressful about my role.
