I worked for a very brief period (on contract through an agency) where the expectation was no training but don't make a mistake. Good thing I am a very experienced admin. 
Staff we're very controlling and territorial over the work and if I had questions about my work or how to best execute a task, I was told to "just never mind "and that staffer would just do it themselves.
I was told by several people my job was going to end before my agency recruiter knew. ( staff bragged of a new /old staff member coming and did extremely poorly at hiding it) worst part: they ended my contract by claiming I wasn't a " right fit" where I already knew it was coming due to the lack of tact by management and staff.
As an agency staff, I was paid more than staff that had been there for years.
They were being paid 13$/hr where average MOA pay is 20-24$/hr.  They compensate for the low wage by buying the staff muffins once a week.  
No wonder everyone there is angry.
The manager is almost never there and entrusts the clinic to reception -to the point they authorized her to sign my time sheets. Management once yelled at me across the clinic (infront of  patients) why I was "eating all the paper " and  was actually serious and angry.   
I had not even been allowed to go near the copy machine that day .

I would start my day with retrieving files already pulled and put it in the office of the doctors when patients arrive for their appointments.
Also communicating on the phone with patients. Dealing with incoming patients and setting up appointments for next visits.

I learned good people skills, multi-tasking and the process of a time-frame between a doctor and a visiting patient. I also learned what type of documents were required in different patients diagnosis.
Would also assist in photocopying records requested by lawyers.

Co-workers were very team-oriented in helping each other when the work load is high. 

The hardest part of the job was communicating with Incoming patients and putting a customer on hold.

The most enjoyable part was seeing the happy expression on patient's faces when I do my best to make things less stressful for them.

Very good place to work for the first 5 years. A busy environment but the day went very fast so it was very productive. After that very long hours for 10 consecutive days per month, working from 8 am to 8 pm to meet very tight month-end deadlines. 
I did Cash Flow, 30 Bank Reconciliations, Journal Entries, various projects.
Worked with software such as Great Plains, Accpac, Excel, and various other softwares.
The hardest part was the long hours every month for 10 consecutive days. 
The most enjoyable part was working with numbers and the joy of balancing long bank reconciliations to a penny.

Daily information and new experience gained, provided both hands on as well as literature updates. 
Fast paced environment to work in, not always having the ability to establish one on one relationships with patients, but the public felt safe coming to our clinic. Very non-judgmental.

This position was routine on a daily bases. I learned ohip biling and third party billing. Management was approchable. Hardest part of job was all the medical terminolog. Enjoyable day was interacting with the patience. Very fast paced job.

The most enjoyable part of my job is giving patients the care they need and giving positive results to patients. The hardest part of the job is the driving distance.

This company is the absolute worst to work for. They have managers that have no clue what they are doing.  Cheap, cheap, cheap.  I was there for 12 years and received 2 raises.  One for 50 cents and last one for 25 cents.  They do not know how to treat their staff.  No wonder they go through staff.

As I am in school currently for Medical Office Assisant, working at AIM Health Group has advanced my skills in a real life setting. I enjoy it very much and can't wait to start another role in another setting to enhance my skills.

At AIM I work in a multidisciplinary environment.  All practitioners work together as a team.  We run ideas and any questions by each other, making it a very interesting and friends workplace.  I perform many PDAs and physical testings for companies in the region.

Fast paced office medical atmosphere, pay was acceptable, Contract position.  Not enough staff and management was huge turnover.Nice clean office to work in, close to my home.
