I worked in a very busy and understaffed department. Little to no thought was put into the hiring process, and therefore unqualified workers were often hired and therefore a hindrance to the team - causing a higher work load for employees already in the department. 

Middle management would listen to our concerns, but nothing ever came of it. Employees who constantly showed a lack of professionalism or work ethic were praised with very little explanation, while diligent and dedicated workers were thrown under the bus; Constantly being expected to do more than their counterparts, with little to no reward. 
Often times we would come into work and discuss amongst ourselves what kind of blame would be put on us during the start of shift meetings. There was constant criticism, little encouragement, and even less willingness to change. 

While working there is emotionally taxing, the opportunity to move up in the company is quite high. While the company will recognize good workers, and promote them accordingly, they will also prey on said workers and put them under incredible and unnecessary stress; including placing them under unreasonable amounts of responsibility meant for middle management.

The pay is good, but the way the hours are logged are not very reliable. It is necessary to keep track of any and all overtime worked, because often those wages would be overlooked and missing from your paycheck. 

The biggest complaint I have is the toxicity of the people, including all employees and managements. Although this may not be a direct cause by the company, it must be known that these kinds of mentally and emotionally draining environments often stem from lack of adequate management, or a lack of understanding of their employees' feedback and concerns. Supervisors have influence to reprimand employees who work under them, even if it is due to a personal relation, and not related to their work quality or output. These complaints are often poorly investigated, and the lower level employee almost always loses the battle. 

Employees that contact upper management to ask not to work with specific employees due to personal problems, are denied unless they hold a position of Han cho (Team Leader) or higher. There are many rivalries between departments, and even between various assembly lines. Employee - Employer relations are very poor. They do offer a committee to express employee concerns to upper management, but often times the larger picture is overlooked. 

Hours worked are based on individual lines and goals. Some lines are expected to put out more product than others, which can often times cause some lines to be able to leave after an 8 hour work day, while other lines are required to work 10 hour days. Although an alright idea, it can cause a lack of morale on the work floor, as some lines have goals that they cannot reasonably complete in an 8 hour shift. 

All in all, if you are able to turn off your brain and ignore all of your coworkers, you can probably make it here just fine. 
Personally, I would not recommend this employer to any of my friends or family. 

I have worked at Aisin twice. In the time that I’ve been there, none of the glaring issues within the company have been rectified. 

They are so pressed for parts every day that new people are practically thrown onto the line with no training, and other team members with minimal experience have to help them out. Frankly, it’s dangerous. It’s a sink or swim environment, and I’ve seen a lot of people walk off the line. You have to absolutely RUN around to keep up because they’ve lost so many people that they’ve had to squish a few stations into one. 

The pay is pitiful. A lot of people have left because it’s easier to find better paying manufacturing jobs elsewhere. Sure, it’s not minimum wage, but its also backbreaking labour that should be compensated accordingly. There is a wage cap that screws over a lot of people who have worked there for a long time.

Communications is HORRENDOUS. It’s such a common occurrence for higher ups to either not be present on a line at all, or to get the numbers wrong for the day and make the workers stay longer. Nobody knows what they’re doing!

If you need hours, this is the place to be. You’ll be working 10 hours no matter what, and they’ll try to mandate you for Saturday at any chance they get. It’s very frustrating to work your butt off during the week to get the numbers they ask, and then be told that you’re not working hard enough.

The few good things about this place is the benefits, which take effect after three months. It is also a clean environment, and not hot or cold. I met a lot of good friends at Aisin, as well. Sometimes there are “fun” company activities, like the annual Xmas Party (but it really doesn’t make up for the aforementioned).

While some supervisors and managers work hard to meet their goals and deadlines more then a few, once promoted, use the title to mess around and do things other team members would be fired for. 

Harrassment is a huge issue and definitely brutal. I've seen groups of people at once hearded into disciplinary meetings over what should have been harrassment with means to terminate, overlooked. And I've seen supervisors with blatent harrassment issues of their own GIVE those meetings with a look on their face like they could give a care... just a tiny bit discouraging and bleak to watch. 

It's hard to make a generalisation about the place because there are many people who put their all into their work and enjoy their lives, but corruption in most other supervisors is too disturbing not to mention. Especially when it creates so much chaos and lowers moral. 

If you have a good sense of right from wrong, if you have a healthy self esteeme, or if you have emotions whatsoever... maybe skip applying. 

If you really dont care about that kinda stuff, or are not really concerned with that type of culture then in all reality the pay is nice and the benefits are a plus.

I worked the night shift, which was difficult at times but we did get a night premium added to our hourly wage. The workplace was like any other factory environment, which meant dealing with some drama while on the floor. However, both my shift leader and manager were amazing people. They made work a lot of fun at times. That being said, sometimes you were stuck working on a single machine for almost 9 hours at a time. We were thrown on a lot of lines that we didn't have experience on and trained in the moment because the factory was usually behind in it's shipments. You also had to work under pressure because of the line itself- if you fell behind, or your machine failed, you were the one holding back everyone else.

The one thing I will say about the environment at Aisin is that it was exceptionally clean- out of all the factories I've worked at, Aisin paid the most attention to organization and air quality.

There were a lot of issues at Aisin, but overall it was a good experience, if only for the money.

I enjoyed the work , but the constant changing of hours and never knowing what hours you will be working when you go in on Monday.
Make it seriously hard to maintain a personal life. It always interferes with appointments as you are excepted to work the requested hours no matter what happens. This is a very unreasonable request and because of this Aisin is always short staffed because people lives don't stop and it is not always easy to accommodate all aspects of everyday life or work. Getting time off for critical appointments wasn't always easy ,even if you gave several weeks or months notice.  I believe that there is a high degree of supervisor - employee favoritism on certain production lines .  The shift start and finishing times are not employee friendly and totally interfere with family life. 
You will constantly get mandated to work Saturdays because the company refuses to acknowledge that they need to do preventive maintenance on equipment , which breaks down daily.

The company does offer some positive things like great benefits and took care of us during covid ups and downs, but the overall experience was negative. Lazy/incompetent people tend to get promoted and praised while hardworking employees get taken advantage of and overlooked. Management and HR have an open door policy and claim to be there for you and that harassment is zero tolerance, but when your complaints get swept under the rug time and time again you quickly realize that that is just smoke and mirrors. 
If you are lucky enough to be put on a team with good leadership, you will probably have an awesome experience. But a good percentage of the leadership out on the floor is seriously lacking in good leadership qualities and work ethic. Morale is quite low on the floor in this company, and the toxicity and drama can be very mentally draining.

My time at Aisin was fraught with issues; assembly lines are reliant on the speed and quality of the slowest member, so often new hires can really hurt productivity on the line. That's fine as long as the new hire learns the line in decent time, but factories are often desperate for employees, so the quality of new candidates often is very poor, which leads to hours of downtime, and not meeting the production goals, which can be very frustrating, especially if that means that the line needs to stick around for a few hours of overtime. The best thing I can say about Aisin in particular is that relatively speaking, it's a clean environment- for a factory job. 5Sstandards are quite high, which is good, but Aisin could do much better with its employees and responsiveness to workplace politics and employee issues.

This company is one that does not care about their employees health despite what they say. The line that I was on said that the day shift is 6AM to 2:30PM but it’s always 6AM to 4PM. They said the afternoon shift was 4PM to 12:30AM but Monday to Thursday you’re there till 2:30AM on afternoons. Friday afternoon shift is the only time that you’ll be done at 12:30AM. They also don’t tell you that if you call in or have to leave early (even if it was an emergency), they’ll make you do overtime on either the Saturday or the Sunday depending which day they need help. To get time off is ridiculous & the sunroof line main manager makes it difficult & 9 times out of 10 he’ll deny it. There’s a lack of training. The coworkers for the most part are good. 

Heads or tails? 

Heads: great staff, overtime balance, hard working team, training opportunities

Tails: superiors have no idea what’s going on or what they’re doing, nobody communicates valuable information that would benefit your team in doing their job, and the new hire is being trained by the last new hire. Oh you want training in a different spot in the plant? They’ll probably say yes and then 3 months (after you’ve asked multiple times) later tell you that they don’t have the manpower to lose you where you are so they weren’t actually intending on training you elsewhere.  

For me, I flipped heads for a few months and then only tails for the next year and a half. 

But hey, benefits and company paid catering for holiday events is kinda cool I guess. 

A typical day often working overtime but usually every Friday for afternoon shifts working only 8 hours. Management is awesome, always investigates  when there is a complaint. Workplace is safety and clean environment with A/C . The hardest part of the job, I think if you can't walk faster or you don't like to walk because the job mostly is walking, also if you're physically present but mentally absent because this job requires presence of mind. In my point of view , theres no such thing as an enjoyable part of the job working in a factory or any kind of job, because you are not going to work to play video games or watch movie. You're working hard to earn money, that is the fact.
