Took care of patients assigned to me. Assess, plan, intervene nursing actions and evaluate care. Collaborate with the team-Psychiatrist, Co nurses, Psychiatric Aides, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist and Therapy Assistant. When patient is sick physically and aggressive. Most enjoyable experience is when patient's problem is resolved, working with co staff and good therapeutic patient- nurse relationship

Able to cope up with tasks and responsibilities. Time management is of an essence. I learned about the complexities of staff scheduling and automated shift callout system. The hardest part of the job is entering workplan assignments as this needs to be constantly exposed to computer operations. The most enjoyable part is dealing with clientele in the healthcare profession and overall the people I work with everyday.

• Maintaining effective communications with patients and family members 
• Reporting to unit manager and working as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Performing activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of patients 
• Assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors


They use your STAT pay towards your union dues and that isn't right. It needs to change and quickly. It's unfair to the staff who work those shifts and sacrifice time with their families to never see anything of it.

It was a good job, but I was forced to leave because I had to choose between my education and my job. 
I made the choice to go back to better myself.

Be efficent,and accurate on portion control. Learning to portion and control and nothing goes to waste.
Learning all special diets.

There is no enjoyment in measuring food all day.

Great working enviroment, in the years I worked there, I worked on every unit, which is good so on does not get stale working on one unit all the time. Learned alot about the young and old.

Almost no vertical growth opportunity.
Nice place to work, however, management should run six sigma project to save overtime. A lot of wastage from leftover food to the overtime.
Employees need to learn corporate etiquettes.

patients have zero say in their healthcare. if you advocate for your patients, you are a unicorn because most staff want to force behaviour compliance, not support patient's mental health. meds are heavily pushed
