A typical day involved counting money for cash register. then either being assigned a register or sent to do stock. If there were any orders that recently came in I would have to tear down pallets and put stock on shelves or in storage area. If there were no orders we were to keep shelves stocked with product in storage. There was also a great deal of cleaning and tidying during the day, shelves, bottles, and floors needed to be regularly wiped or washed depending on what needed to be done. 

I learned how a government business operates, and the care and detail taken to ensure peoples needs were met. 

Management was very knowledgeable and professional,very approchable, and vigilant about offering the best service and experience to customers. 

Co workers were always professional and fun to work with. Everyone always had a focus on getting the job done and done right.

The hardest part of the job was denying people who appeared intoxicated. While against the law to sell liquor to people already intoxicated, it was all based on perception without fully knowing, and it was tough to do.

The most enjoyable part of the job were the customers.

Although the majority of coworkers were great, there are a few within the store I worked at, who do nothing but create chaos with their toxic behaviour.  Many new employees have had to deal with these unprofessional coworkers, who feel they can bully and have “fun” at your expense.  Leaving you feeling anxious for the end of your shift.  Often, the new employee has to listen to snide remarks, treated with disrespect, and reprimanded loudly for minor issues in front of customers and other staff members.  Several instances where you are trained by one employee one way and then trained by another a different way, causing confusion in training methods, which leads to degrading comments about your work performance.  Management will not follow their own policies and fail to follow proper protocols for any complaints, HR is no better.

Full-time staff and management are very clique. Casual staff treated like dirt. Casuals are there to accommodate full-time. They work you 12+ hours/day. Expect you to wait by phone for shifts. When you apply for FT status, the interview is so intense, based on the fact you've been doing same job forever. They set you up to fail. Some casuals are there for years and interviewing 5-6 times with little expectation of getting hired. Very unprofessional all the way up to district manager and HR. I was actually embarrassed to say I lived in this province. This province exploits casuals.

A fairly easy job, if you have already done retail customer service. You're expected to approach and assist customers, stock shelves, maintain store standards. This has been my favorite job of all my retail work. The customers are nice, and my coworkers are kind. Unfortunately, once an employee becomes permanent there is little motivation for them to work hard. Many of the permanent staff members just stand around and talk. And the opportunity to become full-time is almost impossible. Candidates aren't selected based on their performance and qualifications. It's based on seniority. If you're looking for permanent full-time it's going to be tough.

They treat you like a number (not the best part) I don't think there is a good part of that company

The manager is ungrateful and kniving

Like walking on egg shells every day

Scared of being yelled at or fired for just working and doing your job, do not work there

Serving customers.   Helping them chose the best product for there needs

This was one of my all time favorite jobs. Cashier to stocking shelves to unloading trailers. Made your shift go by so quick! Rewarding pay with the ability to move up quickly if you put the work in. Friendly staff. Always learning something new about wine, spirits or beer. I would highly recommend!

I was shocked to see the unprofessionalism, and language/attitude shared at this location.
No encouragement from most of staff as nobody even told me there was a cash register time when you are too be off, thus leaving me on cash me entire shift. 

I like the customer service part. 
Most of the staff is good. 
This is based off of one location. 
A good workout two to three times a week. 
Cleaning, cash, restocking all pretty basic. 
The product knowledge list is endless and lots of learning available. 

Couldn't of asked for better management within the Finance department, down to earth, easy going and willing to help. Manager and Director were really helpful in any questions
