I worked at ATS for several years on the front end dev team. Pay was ok, but the team and company culture really pulled me in. We were given good direction and detailed requirements where necessary, all without any micromanagement which let us implement features using the latest frameworks and tooling.

Note: freedom to implement doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with sloppy code though - the team works together to keep each other honest and we try to use industry best practices, maintainable and scalable patterns and, as much as possible, simple code that is accessible to any member on the team.

The culture on the dev side in particular leans towards the "startup" type (as opposed to "corporate-y"). On rare occasions there are differences between what was promised and what we were able to do in a reasonable amount of time resulting in a bit of crunch time, but I mostly blame that on the old IT manager giving unrealistically optimistic estimates / progress reports.

Besides the work stuff, the people are truly amazing and really chill. There are always various company events going on which are less of the "corporate mandatory gatherings" and more like fun food-filled celebrations that everyone looks forward to. The company is the perfect size - just small enough that you can get to know most people by name (I'm pretty shy and anti social but the president still comes around and talks to me occasionally) but still large enough that you never worry about your next paycheque.

tl;dr:  Don't bother applying if you're looking to coast. However, If you're willing to put in the work (the workload is a breeze if you naturally enjoy coding and are always trying to be a better coder), at ATS you'll find yourself surrounded with smart and extremely helpful people who will help you succeed.

Working at ATS has been challenging due to an excessively micromanaging manager and an unappealing career path. The super micro-managing style creates a stifling work environment, hindering creativity and autonomy. The absence of a clear career growth trajectory has left employees feeling stuck and without guidance for advancement.

What exacerbates the frustration is the company's severe penalty system. Even minor mistakes can lead to layoffs, instilling fear and anxiety among the workforce. This punitive approach discourages innovation and risk-taking, fostering a culture of constant stress.

The lack of support for professional development further compounds the issue, leaving employees with limited prospects for growth. The combination of micromanagement, limited career opportunities, and severe penalties creates a toxic atmosphere that hampers both personal and professional well-being. Prospective employees should carefully consider whether they are comfortable working in such an environment, where creativity is stifled, and the consequences for even minor errors are disproportionately harsh.

I enjoyed the culture of ATS, it was hard work but with lots of fun activities thrown in as well. I felt valued and appreciated at work. I had a voice and was listened to, and the senior staff including managers, superiors and HR made efforts to ensure I was comfortable and included. They went above and beyond to care for my dietary restrictions and my whole team worked together to make my life as easy as possible during my pregnancy. 

Apart from all the that, how much I learned at my time in ATS is remarkable. I went from a copy writing role to being well-versed in Marketing and SEO and a lot more.  There were, of course things that needed improvement, but I felt there was active action taking place to correct those issues.

I worked here few years back and the owner was fantastic! He went out of his way to boost work place morale. When I was there they had a gym that you were welcome to use on your lunch hour, before or after your shift. often they would provide lunches for the team and have many events hosted throughout the year that all employees were welcome to join. The only negative takeaway I would say that I experienced here was lower pay compare to responsibility / contribution and department managers  overloading work on some staff . This was years ago and I assume all issues have been resolved since. 

Overall it was a great experience and Im grateful for the experience I gained from this position. Wishing this business many more years of success and prosperity. Grace 

ATS has conducted several waves of layoffs in the last few years and appears to be still struggling with revenue.

The business also seems to suffer from the dead sea effect, as it's difficult to find people that want to work in a Scarborough office, and the offered pay was in general, not enticing. People also seemed unmotivated and lacked faith in the direction the company was going.

My own salary was in the 110s which was okish, but this was the exception rather than the rule, probably because I joined during a market peak.
From the conversations I've had, I learned that my non-lead coworkers earned significantly less than I did, and there was discontent around pay.

4 days remote was one of the upsides of working at ATS, but I'm not sure on how long that arrangement will continue for.

Working at ATS I gained a lot of experience! At the beginning when it was a smaller company and I did not feel challenged. New management had taken over and they gave me that added challenge I was looking for! I eventually had my own team (which I truly miss), which was a great experience.  My manager was a great leader that was always looking for new opportunities to help me grow.
ATS was a great place to work, they were family oriented and gave you flexibility.  They trust in their employees and are huge on respecting each other and ensuring a “Teamwork” atmosphere. They set out goals and keep you on track- and working with you on where you need to improve!
I did work long hours as we had some high targets to reach, but at the end of the year it was well worth the extra time put in. 


During the past few years worked at ATS, I learned a lot from work and colleagues. The job gives me huge flexibility in how I structure my work, which allows the best productivity, as well as leaving some time for learning new things. All the colleagues are super supportive of each other's work and even personal life. 
Here if you want to expand your skills to become a versatile talent, there are tons you could learn at ATS, from different SAAS software to manufacture/wholesaling construction materials. 

Advice: The management team could focus more on employees' career growth - improve professional skills and care more about the individual's goal.

I learned what kind of company to stay away from. On paper looks decent but living in it and working here is an absolute nightmare.
Work days are tense, long, uninspiring and led by a lot of toxic management who are also great actors.
They say the have values and a good culture but it’s fake and management  treats their team as if we are all robots. That take pride knowing they control and can dismiss staff easily. Management will state ‘I don’t expect anyone to stay here’ which is a tell tale sign that they are toxic and want to have the upper hand always. 
Most enjoyable about job is meeting a few people that seem nice and kind but good people end up leaving because of how horrible the overall experience is at this company. 

Extremely disappointed with working at this company. The management was completely and inexcusably disorganized and failed to provide adequate resources and support to employees. 

There was also a lack of transparency, with unclear expectations and constant changes to job responsibilities without compensation. The work-life balance was non-existent, with long hours and unrealistic deadlines. Deadlines was just something they felt happened as opposed to planned. 

The company culture was negative, with a focus on blame rather than finding solutions. 

I would not recommend working at this company, as it is not a healthy, positive, or supportive environment for employees.

Although they come across as a very progressive company, after speaking with other former employees I find that they want younger employees and will only hire older experienced personnel to fill in the gaps, when an employee leave.I would not recommend for anyone looking for long term employment..  
Another issue is their ongoing software deficiencies. They let their clients down.
