Great culture, with BBQs on long weekends, potlucks and incentives at Christmas time. Very family oriented and understanding when myself or a child was sick. Lots of little perks that added up to a great work environment. No job is ever perfect, but management really seems to try to improve on known issues and to value feedback from employees. Training was provided, and if support was needed all I had to do was ask and it was dealt with quickly and effectively. Every effort was made to address any concerns that came up. They worked with my strengths and helped me develop further skills in varying areas of the business. There was room to move forward and grow.

Alta-Fab Structures is a very good company to work for, A family owned company that has been in business for 40 years in Alberta. Every one is very professional, but also very focused on creating an excellent work culture. Company BBQ's, Christmas giveaways and lots of fun activities are some of the little extras that management incorporates into the company to help create a feeling of family. 

Excellent Management team from the CEO down, who are willing to listen, and encourage growth, and reward hard work.

You my be required to work 5-3:30 every day for months at a time, many Saturdays, long weekends are followed by overtime. they think they own you for overtime. Half the workers don't speak proper English. After a couple months they stop teaching you new things and get mad when you don't know how to do something. Even the best workers aren't appreciated and are only recognized when mistakes are made. Shop is dirty and has poor air quality. Best part is you get a doughnut on payday; if there's one left.

loud and dirty factory with low wage non Canadian workers doing trades people work without actually being registered in the trades because they would not be able to receive any schooling as they do not have the English skills to attend classes.

This is a very bad company

They send you to do a drug and fitness test to a place that is run by children and is not professional at all and is also dirty.

Do not apply to this company your wasting your time its a dead end job.

They treat you like garbage and a slave.

A typical day is getting up a 5 to drive from Edmonton to Nisku to be the for 6 am. Half hour lunch. Work til 3:30pm. very repetitive tasking . I was supposed to learn electrical although most of it was preparatory manual labour. The most enjoyable part was the co worker culture. Safety was taken insanely seriously.

Overall I enjoyed working for Alta-Fab, my day would consist of many things from doing a quality control on a walkthrough of a unit, completing NCR's, file transfers and documenting of all files within the QA Department. Also completing labels for each unit and helping with finance with filing.

Alta-fab is conducive to learning, with a good work culture and team work is encouraged. Safety is important and continuously enforced. We had cooperative environment with diverse group of people and skills.
