In this role, I have developed strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, particularly in managing priorities in a time-sensitive setting. Management is focused on maintaining operational efficiency while providing direction and support when needed.

I started as a rental clerk 27 years ago, moved to Service Admin, Receptionist, Accounts Payable, and now my current position as Sales Admin for the past 18 years. I like that the company was willing to have confidence to move me around where I was needed or where I wanted to try my skills.
I always explain my time with Altruck as "give and take," we work well together and they have helped me through a few trying times in my life. and I am sure I have helped them through the years...more than once :-)
 I have made many friends through fellow employees and customers that I will cherish forever.

The people that work at altruck are some of the nicest people which makes a great atmosphere. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Some times we get so busy, trying to keep every customer happy can get stressful from time to time

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great work environment, good pay, I like that the company do social events for the employee's and their families

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, and exciting, every day is a new challange

Answering phones is my main job during the day and answering walk in customers questions, helping customers is the best part of my day. The rest of my day is taken up with odd jobs and helping out the accounting department. My co-workers and the management team here at Altruck are wonderful. I left a company I had worked 15 years for, to come to Altruck and have never once looked back. From the day I started I felt at home with the Altruck family. I have learned that I actually enjoy accounting , even though I was not that into math in school.

Typical day: check your parts. Load parts. Deliver parts. 
What I learned: just stick to your job and not all the politics and drama in the office. 
Management: poor communication skills. If you’re not a favourite you won’t be happy. 
Culture: toxic. Everyone grumpy all the time. Coworkers not talking to other coworkers. Tense environment. 
Hardest part: heavy lifting. Dealing with Toronto traffic
Most enjoyable: driving around listening to music all day

Most difficult company to work for. One day you’re told to do your job or task one way and then it’s changed the next week. You don’t know whether you’re coming or going. They allow other staff to bully and pick on staff. There is no team work and it’s not encouraged either. There is no help from the day shift shop Forman in answering questions about the status of a repair. They pick and choose what trucks are worked on and it leaves for a lot of nasty calls from customers. 

Working here has been a truly great experience. My managers are incredibly supportive and always take the time to teach and guide me, which has helped me grow both personally and professionally. The team environment is very positive. My coworkers are kind, approachable, and genuinely care about one another. There are also many long-term employees who bring a wealth of knowledge and are always willing to share their experience, offer guidance, and help others succeed.
