Ambico

To start, from the very minute I started there, the negativity, toxicity and entitlement took over.  It's not a place you show up at feeling happy while leaving in that mind frame. 

As far as the work goes, it's docile and inconsistent. There is not a job there that requires an abundance of  skill yet you will be talked down to and made to feel as if you're are a burden.
 

The factory environment? It's lovely, people vaping all over the place, in my short time there two people were caught drinking on the job, sent home and returned the next day. It's union protected, so this is just a short list of the ongoings. 
 
 There is no change room, a lunch room due to handle 20 percent of the staff. It's people watching videos with no headphone and or facetiming their kids.  There is zero peace to be had during breaks and lunch. 

The bathrooms are subpar clean. When I started the cleaning lady would come in while it was occupied, literally raging at messes and or clogged toilets , while people where using it. It continues to the day I left.  On the subject of management in this case or others, they turn a blind eye to annoyances as we are unionized. 

I left on my own term, so this is not a bitter retaliation but just my experience. And lastly if your wanting a job to reevaluate your life, do as I did, wing it for 6-7 months. You'll be a better person with a higher value of your time in this life. 

This company is a local family owned company. The work its self is very decent. It's a learning environment with room for advancement. 

As for the management. They hire/promote, people whom should not be in the management/supervisor position. So they can save the time, money, and effort of finding someone who is fit for the position. And in turn it creates a very toxic work environment as the manager and or supervisor does not know how to deal with employees when problems arise. Supervisors and managers work off of gossip and hearsay and do not ask the person in question if there are any problems. The employees who are workers are all very decent people nice and kind. Some people are suck ups and backstabbers so if you ever get the opportunity to work here please be advised, some people do not have the best intentions for you and will throw you under the bus any chance they get. That is a handful of people out of the group of employees.

If you work there keep your nose to the ground and do not get too involved with this company. I gave them way more than they deserved and I would have gave more, until I was let go.

Thought I would look at the reviews as Im seeking other employment from this company.
The ones leaning towards it not being a great place are 100 true.  
There is a constant ore of negativity there, unsure, the pay is okay and the hours, so you'll be questioning the moral if you accept a position with the company. You too shall be looked down upon when you start, like you are there to take someones job, thats false.
No change rooms is correct, the lunch room is not designed to hold the majority of the staff, if you are new you will not have a spot to eat, lot of people sit in their cars or on the shop floor.
A coworker questioned a lead about vaping and was threatened, as I witnessed, so expect no one to take your self care seriously.
Substance abuse. You'll see it but its not an issue apparently to management, its business as usual. 


Ambico provides a very specialized product that has impacted industry standards around the world. Hard work, resiliency, creativity and tenacity are noticed. Advancement within the company is not unusual. Ambico is a growing company in a period of transition that can  and does present challenges individually and collectively. This is a team oriented environment that makes room for a worker  to step up and help make things happen wherever possible. Ambico is safety conscious and is always willing to address areas where improvement to workplace safety can be gained. Ambico is a place  of job security and renumeration includes benefits not unusual to the industry.

A typical day at Ambico invoices, answer email and phone requests for  products and or quotes/bids.  Organizing and completing jobs from quote stage to complete. Ordering jobs and making sure inventory is kept stocked.

We are a very small department so I have learnt to multi task and  I am able to change task without warning and go back to the task at  later date.

The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing that I was apart of making a certain building function, whether it be a redo of a bathroom or helping keep the Fire and Life Safety  code up to standard. I also enjoy the daily  interaction with customer.

BE CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY
This company will take advantage of you and not hire you at the end of your probation period especially if you have some form of Disability Ie. Learning. The management and leadership will seam almost overwhelmingly supportive at first then expect profection with improper training on how to do your job properly to do your job. And then weeks before your probation period is to end they will fire you before the support of the union is in place  to protect you I'm my opinion the recent management change is a definite turn in the wrong direction 

I had a good supervisor at Ambico who taught me hands on training with several tools and power tools. 

A typical day would consist of rounding up any orders of doors and frames we have in. Usually done one at a time unless there are multiple orders going out in one day. Glass was also typically shipped alone in its owned handmade crate built to exact specifications so the product would arrive whole and undamaged. 

Some deliveries would be going to places in the U.S.A. on a truck so it was extremely important the crate was constructed thoughtfully.

Ambico is where lazy excels, good gets lots and great leaves for better places.  Massive problem with people drinking and doing all kinds of drugs while at work. Management doesn’t seem to care. They also don’t seem to care if you show up late, leave early or show up at all.  There are no repercussions for much of anything.  The union is also absolutely useless.  If you are thinking of joining this company don’t, the pay is not worth it.  Also very little room for any real advancement.

Management is abysmal. Nobody in the company has a clue what’s going on, and the chaos trickles down to customers, who are constantly under pressure because of clueless leadership. If you’re serious about building a career, look elsewhere this place is only worth considering as a first entry-level job, nothing more!

Not bad job. No too much hard work,  lots of good friend, happy.  No hard work. 
Boss never talk or see you. You can relax, sit, lots of fun.  Go outside if sunny. 
Sometimes work but you finish and relax. 
Boss is easy no tell you work harder. 
Over all good place to work. Good money, lots of free lunch and coffee.  Free gloves and boots, jacket too. 
Nice clean place.
