Americana Conference Resort and Spa

Americana is a terrible place to work. They take advantage of workers and refuse most time requests for vacation. Management is terrible and Human Resources is not the place to go if you have an issue with your manager. Twice saw two workplace injuries refused by WSIB because of Human Resources giving false information. I could do a shift and do practically nothing and nobody cared to check. So once again if you don’t care to work to the best of your abilities this place is for you.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The management team is horrible. Hours are minimum, respect and loyalty are not given to hard working staff. All and all it was a very unorganized and communication was not there.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No communication and lack of hours 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Rude and sarcastic.  The upper staff put there workers down. 
No respect.

Hotel management was absolutely terrible to deal with on any occasion involving emergencies in the waterpark. Need assistance with unruly guests at peak attendance? Good luck getting help, and often times you'd be left to deal with situations yourself. 

Everyone in Aquatics was amazing and it was a fun, friendly environment. 

Rules are flip floppy which can create volatile situations with guests.

Fun place to work. Pay isn't great. The water park is dated and old. There is mold on the structure. Owner isn't friendly or personable. Aquatics Manager is a great person to work for. 

enjoyed working there but management was horrible! it was like a power trip between the 2 supervisors trying to out do each other with the workers caught in the middle and spread to thin.for the most park workers did awesome was to much expected with being treated very rudely

My coworkers are amazing people, schedule is flexible.  Its a great working environment in all. The management was amazing. There is no competitive wages though. And most positions only pay minimum wage.

Great Managers who understand life beyond your job. Easily approachable and enjoyable to work with. Staff are friendly. Lots of perks from the owners and reciprocal programs.

Great family atmosphere. 
Great departmental teams and support.
Of course dealing with guest can be exhausting, but having your co workers, management and ownership there around the clock to back you up is a bonus.
Made some really great connections here. 

This was a great job aswell.
Living so close to the falls we forget that were living in such a spectacular place.I have met people from all over the world working here.

The staff is also great everyone works hard and works together as a team.

Long hours, don't care that you have a life outside of work (will book you for a closing shift and a following open shift) strict rules, not always a happy place to work
