Canadian division was once the best region to work for. However, in the last 5 years, Amex Canada lost it's soul and sacrificed investing & developing front line staff into leaders, to focus on profit margins.

Unfortunately, this is a major disconnect because bullying employees, constantly shifting the performance targets to minimize bonus payouts plus disregarding frontline recommendations and feedback have turned a once amazing company, into just another production line.

Add to that highly downgraded health benefits and overall employee lifestyle benefits, it has just become a place to secure a paycheck, not at all a place to be a part of with pride.

AMEX always strives to be the most respected service brand, and all actions taken points towards the vision. You are given a chance to share your views, you are empowered to challenge the status qua and your ideas are stream lined through process excellent program.

The atmosphere seems laid back at divided by people who work hard and don't. But don't be fooled. Even if you're a hard worker, if you do not have a hardworking boss who will protect you or an inside contact who helps you get away with backdoor deals, you will fail. It's a horrible feeling. Also, not a good environment for women.

Management have no clue how to manage the resources.
Peoples been sitting there over 20 years and still using the same technique to run the shop.
No advancement opportunities.

Very independent work,meeting new people on a daily basis...management is generally very friendly and supportive 

It was a nice place to work located at YYC met some nice cool people traveling and whom work as well  for the airlines easy sales management is great.

Location is based at the calgary airport so it is a little tread to get up at 300 am to be at work ready to go for 5 am lack of management and communication
