Customers range from highly knowledgeable tradesmen to diy homeowners. Often times people will come into the store with a specific maintenance issue they need solved, and depending on their knowledge base you may need to advise them. Thorough understanding of the catalog is a must. Management in store is great, but at times there is a disconnect between the different branches and their needs. Despite this the workplace atmosphere remains friendly and positive. At times, you may need to deal with frustrated people, as often they will have a critical appliance in their home in need of service parts. You may also deal with anti-social behaviors when receiving returns, when per policy you need to deny refunds. However these occurrences are rare, and most often you will be solving an irritating problem for people. Overall the nature of the business makes customer interactions a positive experience. 

As a new sales professional coming into this position I had a great start through the people I share the schedule with, I was able to really round out my sales experience as well as start to acquire my Marketing and Advertising background I craved. 

I was in charge of handling various account holders in the property management sector. I learned about and sold HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Appliance parts.

I always like to adapt and try something new. This position allowed me to do so while learning an entirely different aspect of the job force.

Very poor management when I was there, no incentives what so ever. wages are horrible for what you bring to the table and what is expected, I would not recommend any one looking to get a head working there, worked there for 4 years and never received any raises or reviews, Horrible Place although I loved my colleagues, even though My supervisor was one of the laziest unmotivated person I have ever met


Company is very "good ole boys club" It is a family run business and there is very little opportunity to contribute if you are not part of the family or the "club". Years of service mean little to nothing when working for this company. This is not a idea place if looking for a long term career. The employees are belittled and bullied by management.

ok could be better not a team atmosphere everyone for them selves

long up and down it was a job and that is it no room for advancement

Nothing  .. money is poor... atmosphere is toxic and entightled

Teams are divided by length of service

Toxic... team is not motivated

Hectic.. rushed.. poorly planned

Busy but fun 
Full days - time flies.

Management doesnt micromanage you and lets you do your own thing. 
Pay is decent and hours are good.  Lots of options for overtime if you want it. 

Lots of inventory and millions of parts for everything to do with building management - 
You must be able to read English well .

HR/Management does not follow through on pre-hire commitments. No raises, with unfair work requests.Though and maybe the supervisor will go to bat for you, the old school ownership is basically not understanding in today's employment fairness. The people you work with are usually good honest hardworking family people and can be quite fun.

I would take walk in customers and serve them.
I would cash people out
I would look up model numbers for appliances and find the part number to order them for the customer
I would call customers about orders to be picked up

This company had the least toxic workplace of any I've worked at.  Very encouraging, understanding and educational management and team members.  Going to work there was a joy instead of a job and would highly recommend.
