I was with Anchor for almost 2 years. Management, supervisors and my “job title” changed almost every month. I was hired for one position but then was put on support workers which I was never hired for. Hiring location said Burlington but then I Had to drive to Hamilton and Guelph. There is such a lack of communication and SO DISORGANIZED! room for wage increase is not an option, don’t even bother asking because they will make something up about why they can’t do that or how you have not performed well enough to deserve it.... it took them over 8 months to give me a renewed contract and they put you into situations with clients you have absolutely no information about. They make you promises to keep you on their team but then never follow through with it. You cannot grow with this company! What turned out to be such a great job for me in the beginning once management and supervisors changed it became my worst nightmare.

I was hired by Anchor as a Child and Youth Worker. In my interview, I was told that I would be working with children. The ONLY question that I was asked relating to clients was if I was comfortable with death threats. The interviewer NEVER mention what I would ACTUALLY be doing. After two months of waiting for them, I finally got my first shifts. On my first day, I was placed in a elderly home.. NO CHILDREN IN SIGHT. These elderly people were also developmentally disabled. I was NEVER told that would be the clients that I would be working with. I don't recommend this company as I was lied to from the very beginning.

I cannot say enough about my experience working with Anchor. The managers and CEO really make a point to get to know their employees and are accessible at almost all times. The job itself can be emotionally draining, as is the nature of healthcare fields, but the managers are always there to help support you and offer advice or find solutions. 
Hours are quite flexible and you can really have input over how much you want to work or not. 
The experience at Anchor is invaluable and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work for the company.

I have been working with Anchor for 4 years as a Behaviour Support Worker.  I love the diversity of clients that I get to work with, I had applied for the Child and Youth sector of the company, but was also given an opportunity to expand my support portfolio with young adults with brain injuries. My clients have been challenging at times, but the support and strategic development that I have received from Anchor has given me the confidence to rise to the challenge and I am so glad that I did.  

Anchor Rehab Services provides a flexible work environment with lots of opportunity to build a client base and further your education in cognitive-behavioural tools. While providing lots of autonomy and having primarily virtual work relationships, Anchor also ensures that communication between employees, clients and management is their top priority. This position has been very enjoyable and they have been a great company to work with.

Team members are always trying to innovate(especially through the Pandemic) and I always felt I could call the management team to talk out my concerns

I have had the pleasure of working with Anchor for over two years now. The management team does a great job at making you feel supported, with weekly calls and monthly management calls. There are always workshops being offered and now with covid it is on a virtual basis. Even though this is community based, I have always felt part of the Anchor Team. 

I feel this is a supportive environment to work in.  Management is readily available and supportive in terms of problem solving, scheduling, answering questions, collaborating with treatment teams.  Flexibility with scheduling allows for other opportunities to happen.  Monthly webinars/information sessions allow for the entire Anchor team to be together to collaborate, learn and share questions.

I advise you not to work for this organization. Poorly organized, very scattered. The management is not helpful or supportive at all. Especially the director.. not empathetic or supportive to workers. They put you into locations with not much information and expect you to know what to do. There is no ability to advance or get higher pay with this agency. 
The only benefit is you can make a lot of hours or none.

This role gave the the opportunity to build my own client base and relationships.  I have a the chance to work with clients, legal professionals, clinicians and families teaching me so much about a field of healthcare I knew so little about
