I learnt a lot while working for Annapolis Valley Home Care. The endless stories and memories I have with my clients will be never forgotten. 

The job was rewarding but also challenging at times in terms of always learning. If you like to learn and grow as a person as well as reek the rewards of feeling good about yourself I say this would be an awesome place for you. 

Through my time at AVHC I helped many clients at the end of their lives and knowing that I gave them comfort is something I will always feel grateful for.

The Management staff are very understanding and will not push you outside your limits if you are not interested. At first I did not think I would ever want to do personal care clients however through learning and training it became like a second nature. It doesn't have to be tough or awkward. 

I enjoyed prepping meals and sometimes just sitting down for a tea with my clients if they wanted to talk. 

If you want to learn just reach out to the office as they have courses, training rooms and much more. I know that this is what made me become the Caregiver I was. 

Thank you AVHC for sticking with me right up until my retirement. You and my clients will always have a special spot in my heart. 

I worked for the company last year over the summer and plan on returning this summer after my 3rd year of University for Nursing. 

I am very thankful for what this company has done for me and the knowledge they have shared. 

If you want to work for a large business that still is ran by a local family this is the place for you. I found it very inspiring that this business is ran by a Mother, Father, Son and Daughter. Very professional. The son and daughter are taking over and are doing a wonderful job for only being in their early 20's. I found this exciting as well as I am only in my 20's myself and to see young business professionals is very nice to see.

In these challenging times they are doing their best to keep their rates low for clients but also offer advantages for their workers. 

Last year I seen a complete payrate increase across the board and this year they are offering bonuses and paid training. Investing in their team is great to see. 

This isn't just a business of 10 people. I myself was apart of the team when it employed 96 staff members. That is awesome for a small hometown like mine. 

Keep up the great work and can't wait to see you all again this summer.  

 

I have been working for the company now for 6 years.

I can honestly say I have seen great growth and changes over the years. 

The business has grown, as well as their outlook towards work life balance and wages. 

This is a private, family owned business so no, the benefits aren't the same as Government work. However, neither is the requirements and job load. 

This is great work, 1 on 1 work with clients in their homes. You build relationships and it is rewarding making clients days better. 

I am able to have a Health Benefits plan with the company and my performance is reviewed and rewarded yearly. 

I am happy with where I work. If you go to work and do you best each day I can't ever see you having an issue with this company. They are very appreciative of those who try their best. 


 

I have been working for the company now for about 1.5 years. 

In this time I have really got to know the family that runs the business and how the business works. 

Caring individuals who noticeably do this work because they care about their clients and people in need. 

If you are reliable and like working with people this should be a good job for you. Its rewarding and satisfying making clients days better. 

Company has really worked hard and are working hard over the last year or two to help better its work life balance and supply better wages. 

The fact that the company is privately owned and ran and continues to work very hard to be the best they can be speaks wonders.

I currently work in the Main Office of Annapolis Valley Home Care. 

Our team of staff both Office and Caregivers work together to help provide much needed services to our clients. 

It is very rewarding at the end of the day to know you were apart of making someone's day better. In Home Care is very important for seniors and people of all ages. It makes me happy to know that our clients can receive quality care in the comfort of their homes and help them stay there longer. 

I know when I get older or need care I would hope to find a company that provides these services with the same level of care as possible. :) 

I have been working with the company for close to a year now. The work environment can be fast paced and always changing. However, this leads to never having a dull moment. 

You will be surround by caring individuals and clients. Friendships will be made that last a lifetime. Caring for an individual in need is one of the most rewarding jobs in my opinion.  

AVHC is a family owned and operated business. Personally speaking this really is great as it keeps the small business feel and caring nature which is very important in this field. 

This job has been one of the more rewarding jobs I have ever held.

The pay and benefits are really increasing over the years. 

The family that owns the business really tries hard to compete with other agencies while treating their employees fair and making it affordable for their clients.

I would recommend this company to anyone who would like a introduction into the caregiver role aa well as those that hold a CCA certificate. AVHC has many opportunities to further your learning in the field. 

Company works with its employees to help them be the best they can be at their job. Will do their best to see you succeed. I have worked for other care agency’s in the Annapolis Valley and they are by far the best! 

I have worked for the company for over 5 years and have loved every single minute of it. Such a great company and team to be a part of and it is a job that makes you feel that you truly have made a difference in the lives of others.
