In the lower mainland area it seems to be stable and fair for a flagging company with just horrible management and dispatch. I know alot of those girls and the texts I've seen from dispatch is absolutely horrendous for ANY employer to say.
As soon as you leave the lower mainland you're absolutely screwed over. 
Lower mainland LCTs make up to $26 an hour
As soon as you leave the lower mainland (ie Kelowna, Vernon, Prince George, Quesnel) the cap is $19.50 and that's With 12% in Lue. Not only that, you have to fight head office for any kind of equipment or gear. Winter in the north is -30c and we had to fight.. FIGHT for appropriate gear, for no one makes enough to pay for $300 boots, $200 snow pants or $300 jacket, unlike lowermainland where a rain coat and extra hoodie will suffice 
Renting is the same price in the north as let's say Abbotsford or Chilliwack, most cases it costs more because there is way less apartments. some foods cost more here too. So tell me how it's affordable living?
People on minimum wage make more then employees in the other districts, it's such a shame for I loved my job over 17 years, but had to leave to be financially stable. 
Was not worth the financial instabilities, stress from higher ups, zero union help, or abuse from management. I absolutely do not nor ever will recommend working for this company. Ansan should be very ashamed.

Join the company for two months and left in March. The job was the regular flagging job for BC. You start your day by getting a text message confirming the job which is a lot of city jobs like Surrey.

You get to deal with the drivers which can be very bad sometimes. You know your start time not mostly never your end time. You could be working a 4-hour shift or a 16-hour shift.

The union sure takes their bits with dues with working dues and monthly. The startup fee for the union is $300 but you pay $25 per paycheck. The big issue I found which is illegal is the fact they bundle in your 12% vacation and Stat pay into the hourly and not let you know that. So an 18.25 hour a wage is truly 16.25 after the 12% is taken off and the vac as well. That's their level 3 TCP pay.

Also during the cold month of Feb, there were no jobs for the newer TCP. Don't expect a job advancement that fast, you can expect a truck within 1. 5 years.

I have been a tcp for 6 years. I earned my truck after working one full year as a flagger. I started at 15.00 per hour and worked my way up through all the levels and raises, now earning 28.50 per hour with 4 more raises in next 4 years. I have never been short of work except in first year as a flagger at Christmas. I worked for ups for a month during that time. I work most weekends and earn alot of overtime wages. I love particularly working with the most senior staff. I feel we know each other and are like a family  I never yell or speak rudely to my flaggers. I have enjoyed the transition to new management a feel the company is quite professionally run. If you're a dedicated worker the traffic control industry and ansan can be very financially and personally rewarding. They also have a company rrsp I participate in for my retirement, and there are  opportunities to work in other positions in ohs within the company.

Days can be busy, boring, long, or short depending on where you're working and with whom. you're work site can change daily and there are times where you don't get breaks at all during an 8+ hour shift. However, getting on a continuous site makes the job much more routine and the pay is great. You can work 4 hour shifts sometimes, or you can work upwards of 16 hours with appropriate overtime rates. The job is fairly challenging at first but after a while it gets a lot easier and much better to deal with and balance with your everyday life.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Fun people. And they helped me out when I got injured and it was amazing. That's an amazing people and I love this company and this industry.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor communication is the biggest. But that's across the board .....must be curious and eager to "find out" be solution oriented and forward thinking

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Awesome, supportive high energy and busy busy busy😄

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
9 hours 5 five days a week or more and weekends

They are not safe on the job site (use of phones in particular are used when they shouldn't be used), they complain about using radios or yell at you if your radio isn't working and complain when they have to pick up their partner, they yell at their partners if they did something they didnt like. Management would not return phone calls, They dont pay you what you should be paid ...eg,  A flagger worked for 4 years is suppost to be making $17.95 - $18.30 per hour ... I was paid $15.18 an hour.

I've worked with Ansan over ten years and like any other company you will have good and bad. Maybe this person below who commented is one of the 'lazy flaggers', most senior people won't put up with the lazy people. If you show you want to work and want to learn then all will be fine. This job is not to just get into to make a decent buck, you are there for the safety of your crew and the public and if you can't do your job properly then that's probably why you had issues with senior staff.

Things were starting to look up with the new owners but management is messing everything up causing the company to lose contracts and go to a more private sector which the employees do not want to do. Funny how half the people in the office are all ex employees for another company and they seem to be screwing over/up our current contractors and we are losing a lot of jobs that seem to be handed over to their former company. The new owners need to make a change in management  ASAP

I've worked here for about 6 months. Not sure why the previous dude is negative.  Just saw it and wanted to write to show another side. 

If you work hard, you're rewarded, that's the bottom line. And rewarded well. At least on the office side. People are great and chill. Like family.  Management expects a lot, but is fair. 

I have no complaints.
