I really loved this job. I ended up leaving due to personal reasons. My husband lives in another country, and with the time off I needed, work could not accommodate this. There is plenty of room to grow within the company, and they always hire in company first. 

The job itself (actually taking calls) is inbound mostly. There are some outbound calls but they are far and few between. Every call is different. It can be stressful and take time to learn/adjust. Be patient with yourself. My best advice is to be honest with the caller and if you don't know, just say you don't, but you're happy to find out and follow up. You deal with belligerent people like in any customer service job, but if they're being excessively inappropriate you have the OKAY to hang up. So do not fret! 
You choose your schedule based on tiering. In tier 3 you get whatever shifts are left over so aim for tier 1 or 2. 
A lot of the time in tier 3 there are no shifts to pick up leaving you to be auto assigned (meaning they give you shifts wherever the need is the most) which is hard if you like a set schedule, but good because you always get hours. 
You can pick up, drop, and trade shifts as well. 
Lots of opportunity for overtime, but it is first come first serve. 

The team is super supportive and you are never left on read.
You get a ton of support despite working from home. 
If you are stressed from a difficult call, the team is willing to allow you breathing room. 
You can message your co-workers, don't be shy
Daily activities, and hobby related group chats to participate in
Learning time (THEY PAY YOU TO LEARN NEW THINGS) 
Meetings are great for coaching so you are always improving 

No bad experiences with leadership. Any bad feels I had were usually because I fell short in my performance.
Enjoy your time at anywhere works! You can literally work anywhere as long as HR approves the location. 
I worked in the USA for 5 months and then went back to Canada. 

I didn't like how break time was allotted (you cannot split up or combine your 10 minute breaks) and if you needed time off you always had to book 2 weeks in advance. (Most of the time, I get notice for family events within 1 week) 
This being said, if you took the day off due to illness they give you sick days, and they also remove any attendance penalties if you provide a doctor's note. 

I wrote "You use your own device" in cons. It sucks just because it is a personal computer, but the software takes very little room on your PC. There is no excessive invasion of privacy from the company either. 

Like others said, it's a third party call center. The volume of calls is ALOT.  I've worked at a few call centers and this one is a lot honestly. Calls are back to back almost all day, everyday.

Script is provided but it's really difficult to provide proper information for callers which leads to a bad experience for everyone. And the clients don't call their callers back so what's the point?

Their hours required and attendance points isn't great honestly. A 40/37.5 hour work week is standard and not an issue for most, the WAY the hours can be scheduled is soo frustrating.

Like others mentioned, no one wants to work from 6 am to 9pm with a bunch of useless breaks in between. No one wants to work 6 days a week for $19/hr. The 'flexible' work is flexible to a limited extent and ends up feeling like a prison in your own home to your laptop for an overly stressful inbound call experience.

If the time between calls were spaced out, it would honestly be a perfect job. Having 5 to 15 seconds between calls is not healthy in any regard. 

Attendance points makes sense on paper but when needing sick time, their policy is actually the most ridiculous I've ever experienced in any job- call center or not.  Pray you never need time off or get sick for more than one day in 3 months. 

Overall, it's a difficult work environment and you can tell the managers follow a script when in meetings and speaking to you. No one is genuine. It's a legit company but definitely feels like it's not. It's weird.  Overall, the people were okay at best.  

Pros- pays the bills and you're at home.

Cons- Your mental health will suffer, call volume is too much, especially when you're new. Software needs to be refined and less heavy on your personal laptop.  They also need to let you have comfortable headsets.  Everyone follows a script, including management and access to information within the company was also limited to an extent- first time experiencing this in a company. Made me feel the company is not transparent and not sincere so I don't trust them.

This is a call center with a high volume of calls to the point where you can't get a sip of water in between. You are expected to follow a script which is rarely the same and don't know which company you will get a call for next. You will be treated badly by the majority who call in, especially if they are not getting a call back from the company they are trying to reach and you can't help them. Don't plan on actually helping the customer. If you derive from the script or take too long, mis-type information or get anything wrong it will affect your overall score which places you in a tier in order to have access to picking shifts for the next 2 weeks in advance . Many details about having to reach specific tiers are not given in the training, nor the points system if you need to miss a shift ( not many points given per month) you will get 1 point per half hour. You are still expected to make up your minimal hours each week even if there are no more shifts available. Breaks are minimal, 10 minutes paid per 3 hours, then the rest are unpaid. To get 8 hours a day you basically need to schedule shifts from early morning to night in increments of half hour to a few hours which does not give a great work/life balance. Expect to work 6 days a week just to meet the minimum hours. You are basically chained to your computer all day expected to answer over 300 calls a day. You have to lie and say you work for the company you are answering for, yet you are given minimal information and HAVE to stick to a script. Only take this job if you are needing to pay bills.

The work is easy when you get the hang of it. You have to lie about your role or else you can be docked a mark. You cant say you are from the answering service. There is alot of expectations. When the calls are back to back it can be overwhelming. You can take one 10 minute break every 3 hours. if you work under 3 hours you have no paid 10 minute break. Your "flexible" schedule is determined how well you perform. 5 random calls are pulled for the week.  You are graded by 5 soft skills (tone of voice/professionalism)and 5 technical skills (following script/message detail/ verifying information) for a total of 10 points for those 5 randomly picked calls. . If you have 2/10 of these points then you don't get to pick your "flexible hours" and you will be auto assigned. These can be as long as 5 hours with 1  10 minute break. You can start as early as 6 and end at 9pm with shifts scattered through the day. You can be graded on ACW (After Call Work) this is the time it takes you to write a message after the call ends. The days you have off during the year are little to none. If you are under your minimum hour requirement of 36 hours by 5 minutes you will have a meeting. If you use up your 10 sick days for the whole year then you need to pay for a doctors note. If you have no sick days saved then you HAVE to make up those 36 hours for the week no excuses or you will be fired. Leads vary from good and bad. 

As a CX, you will take back-to-back calls. It will be draining, and you will not receive any support; you will only have expectations to be met. Of course, upper management does not see you as a person. 
In training, they tell you such beautiful lies. Once you begin to really see, you are quite cruel; as the reality of the work environment is very toxic.  
They claim self-scheduling for the best work/life balance but then create scheduling policies above and beyond the performance metrics that force you to work the busiest days of the week (Monday Friday and Saturday) if you want the chance to actually have a full 24 clock to pick from. O and that isn't a guarantee. You can work hard and hit all performance expectations to gain Elite but you may not get the exact shifts you want. They will say it's due to the clock. Which later you will find is hilarious as this clock does not accurately predict much. We are always on back-to-back calls with leads consistently asking for folks to stay later or go home early.  Not very organized or knowledgeable. 

If you are hungry this place isn't so bad. Keep your head down, back up documents on your device, and do the best you can. If you have a choice ... RUN. 


The job was really draining and their expectations on how every call needed to be handled was pretty unrealistic.  I found taking calls for various businesses and law firms was difficult due to the lack of information on the different businesses themselves. An overwhelmingly common question I would receive was if the law office would provide free consultations, to which I had no information provided to me and would have to tell them I can unfortunately only take a message and have someone call them back (and a lot of the times no one calls the callers back). This again made the caller confused and usually annoyed as instead of being honest with the callers they usually wanted us to lie and say we’re in the office as a receptionist, if that were the case I should be able to provide more answers. The learning time and team meetings were a positive experience but there was a tremendous lack of support from leads and senior leads. The tiering for shift picking was also very strange as it just seemed as though they prioritized the top performers and undervalued everyone else. 

If you like the call center environment then this job may be for you. They offer “flexible” self-scheduling but really it just takes up your entire day and you work from early in the morning to late at night with the ability to have maybe 2 hours in between 2-3 hour shifts. There’s half an hour of learning time every day for you to watch the required podcasts and Youtube videos, which is a nice break from the high call volume. Callers will often be able to tell you’re with the call center and not actually the company/lawyer/brand they’re calling for. This results in uncomfortable calls where you have to lie and pretend you’re in the office. You get next to no information about the client they’re calling for. Callers will ask the simplest questions and you can’t answer them - you can only offer to take a message and have someone call them back (which they often don’t).  If you still haven’t been turned off yet, then go for it! It could be a great job for you. Leadership is kind and welcoming - you get weekly meetings with your lead. 

This job might seem okay at first, but it quickly becomes repetitive and unrewarding. The pay is low, and raises are extremely rare—loyalty and performance don’t seem to matter. While they advertise flexible scheduling, it’s only “flexible” if you’re high enough in their tier system and fast enough to grab a slot. There are no part-time options unless you have a medical condition.

The biggest letdown? The complete lack of physical wellness support. You’re sitting for hours with only one 10-minute break, and yet there’s no access to massage therapy or any physical care, even though it's desperately needed in this kind of sedentary role. They mention wellness as a perk, but it’s all surface-level and mental—your physical well-being is overlooked.

Even the remote setup is outdated. You’re required to be connected via Ethernet, which kills the idea of working “from anywhere.”

Bottom line: If you’re looking for fair pay, actual flexibility, and real wellness benefits (like physical care), this job will disappoint. It’s not built for long-term sustainability or employee health.

I worked here for a year, and while I didn’t hate it entirely, it is definitely soul crushing. You will get non stop back to back calls, probably 70% of them are angry people. Most of the companies you answer calls for are just screening calls and will never call them back, and some of the companies are outright scams. AnywhereWorks does not care about how their employees are treated, only making money off of their clients. You will get a bad score for not writing down enough stuff even if the caller is screaming obscenities at you or hangs up before giving you enough information. Most of the time you have zero ability to actually help the caller, but also have to pretend you are physically at the company they are calling for, which makes nearly every caller think you are stupid and in turn makes them even angrier. I didn’t meet a single person who had worked there longer than 3 years, so that should tell you everything you need to know. 

THE GOOD
Excellent and thorough training -Paid volunteer time -Decent wage for the industry -Managers and supervisors all seem pleasant -Performance based scheduling

THE BAD
-Clients abuse the service and use it to screen calls many of which they never return which results in angry call backs from their customers when they never hear back from the person their trying to reach. -You often don't have enough information to answer callers questions but certain clients want you to pretend to be on site reception which can become awkward and make you feel terrible if you feel strongly about telling these kinds of little white lies. -Strict quality controls like verifying spelling of callers name even if they spell it out for you at the start of the call already
