-Inadequate shop ventilation leaves you going home with headaches almost every day. "WorkSafe NB" is a trigger word here and can get you fired for even mentioning it, like saying the word "bomb" at the airport. No doubt working here long term will give you some form of cancer.

-Disorganized management and a lack of wanting to improve means you'll be the company's b*tch, but so will everyone else. Nobody really has any titles, and the ones they do have are meaningless. Everybody does everything, and you go into work having no idea what you'll be doing or who's mess you're going to be cleaning up. I spent about 20% of my time employed here actually doing what I was hired to do, the rest was other duties that they don't want to specifically hire and train a single person to do.

-Not unionized, and you can tell because the pay is absolute garbage. Literally just over minimum wage to do work that will break your back and give you cancer when you're older.

-"We don't hire losers" is what I was told in the interview. But all they hire are losers! Every single person there is stuck working there and hates it. Most of the people working at Apex are people who do not have the means to create a better life elsewhere.

-Junk. They make junk. If you want doors and door frames that are glued together and filled with auto-body filler then go ahead and buy your overpriced doors from Apex. The reason Apex's estimates are so expensive is because the shop is terribly unorganized and jobs are always late and take much longer to complete, stacking up tons of overtime hours. They are not high estimates due to quality material. The actual material quality is junk from China.

In the end I quit working there after getting tired of how they do things. Unfortunately this is one of the better places to work in Moncton, which really just tells you how bad Moncton is in general.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Friendly staff and technicians within the Dartmouth branch.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The Dartmouth branch is ran out of Moncton and it seems they have no idea what they’re doing. There is almost zero training for office staff, it is more a learn as you do job. There are very few technicians as staff leave due to low wages (compared to other companies) and better opportunities elsewhere. You are almost always left in the dark about things until they are a larger issue. If the Moncton Managers find a reason not to like you, you will no longer work there, whether it be before or after your 6 month probation.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Twofaced. You can be so friendly with someone as to even go out to lunch together, but they will be half the reason that you are eventually let go from the company. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Chaos. Many service calls and scheduled maintenance calls and no technicians to send to do the work.

I would not recommend Apex to anyone. The management is generally poor and TBH are quite often bully's. Overtime is generally forced. There is room to learn to skills and be cross trained but wages do not reflect your training. The raises they do give are zero(had 4 years where no raises were given and were told to not have a bad attitude about it.)  to 1.00 but you would need to work  as if you had a raise of 3.00.

There are beinifts but if you need the family plan you will go broke as they are 275/month + and you are actively told that if you use the beinifts then you are the reason for the raises. 

All in all, I would not recommend this place as a job or a career(heaven forbid you took College to work here...please dont!)  If you are looking to work in the welding field most ppl use apex as a send off point to other provinces as you can be a person of the street and "learn" welding at Apex. 



I worked here during my co-op in high school...My colleagues/superiors were not only easy to get along with, but very caring as well. I imagine the caring part had some other motives behind it (liabilities) since I was just there for co-op, but they were always up to helping. There was of course some routine/monotony to the job tasks, but everyday had variety. Was really cool to learn about the manufacturing industry. Though I don't know much about the pay/career advancement, when I got into conversation with my colleagues about the role, they implied it was a fair pay and had the oppurtunity to make requests. The one thing to be aware of is that you will be exposed to sharp objects and toxic chemicals, but so long as you have the proper gear and guidelines (which is given), there's nothing to be afraid of.

Pretty good place to work other than the pay ,environment is good , clean, people.are good to work with for the most part ,they invest in new equipment, to try and be the top but they don't invest in the people they just give them enough to try and hold on to them instead of going above and paying the good people a great wage and keeping them forever,  they have lost some good people in my shot time but from what I hear lost some really great people.over the years just simply due to not being paid well

When it comes to product quality they are a leader in that industry. Of course it is profit driven in the bottom line is always the main concern. Overall management is excellent. However there could be some better choices made when it comes to Foreman's. Overall I found it a very good work experience.

One of the lowest paying businesses in Burnside for the industry, no support from management at Head Office. The company does not want to be modern with many procedures, and pay rates. Benefit plan is way over priced for an "employee discounted rate". 
Any of the awesome people that did work there have left, leaving just the solid old foundation of those that never change. 


Not the best place to work, they keep everybody in a poverty situation, they dont give raises to people who deserve it, pay is really bad if you dont have a lot of experience, they are cheap with tooling,,,,they expect you to perform miracles on a daily basis for little compensation.

Fast pace heavy consistant lifting,very dirty and dangourous eviroment,with very min training ,and no insentive to adavance if you have any problems with older staff picking you apart daily to make a name for themselves.

I was the first one there every morning to open.
I always went above and beyond. I actually did like the staff there but no management literally.
Needless to say, this causes friction within. 
I can't complain because I knew from day one I was stepping in quicksand.
