This company hires mostly relatives and personal friends and cares nothing about their other employees. If you do not "fit in" or "conform" they will find a backhanded ignorant and illegal way to get you out the door. They dont believe in the "3 strikes you're out" policy or the verbal then written warning. If they dont like something you say or do they will blindside you without giving you one chance or even telling you what exactly you did wrong. They will escort you out the door claiming "work shortage" or "position elimination" treat you like a criminal as you try to pack up years of your life and then turn around and give your job to someone they know or a family member or family member of another high ranking employee. There is no loyalty in their promises and any praise you might possibly receive or your work ethic and commitment to your job means nothing to them in the long run. Voicing your opinion may only get you turfed out. You cannot trust anyone in the company so tread carefully if you work here! Management is the worst of all and HR does not do their job legit! Be careful what you sign if they turf you and WHO gets you to sign. They will get someone who you think is your friend who is NOT an HR rep to sign documents so that you cannot sue them. It is a HORRIBLE place!!! You will regret ever working there. They ruined my life and didnt care one bit. Hope the company is shut down.

Our crew in Lloyd was best kind..the pay was decent and a great benefits package that started immediately..

Benefits were cut off before i even had an opportunity to make a dental appt lol

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment was great..we only had a small crew but we gotter done safetly everyday and had alot of laughs and fun at the same time..I felt valued and respected by my co-workers and supervisors

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Day started with a hot coffee and a crew toolbox discussion entailing the days plans and expectations..next obtain permit to work followed by an assessment of the task area  and the recording of hazards and controls on the  flha..sign on from all crew members..conduct quality work in a safe manner

Working two and a half years at ApplusRTD Quality Services i recieved technical training and detailed workscope for each job required upon the clients request. Lots of coarses were provided to give me the best possible opportunity to grow with in the company. 
Initiative has to be taken to establish proffesional relationships with coworkers and clients just like any other place of employement. Lots of travel is required for jobs with in the this company, they are very leaniant on types of hotels stayed and on work related expenses. Although clients sometimes asked alot of the crews i was on, it is necessary and worth going above and beyond to ensure the job was completed.
Overall was a great place of employement, there are no lack of answers to my questions.

On-site day shift Maintenance Superintendant was dishonest and incredibly unprofessional. There was speculation he was using (coke, possibly) as his behaviour was erratic and hyper to the extent of strange and concerning. 
On the other hand, the shutdown supervisor, whom I was told to help out (minus the same pay as techs on s/d, informed I was not allowed to send in my own timesheet during this time) was, thankfully, professional, respectful, kind and just a decent human being. He was unaware of the situation my own Superintendant had put me, and others in, and when it came to light, he was clearly not okay with it. Messed up company - GM and useless union were no help, as usual.

They pay well and the people i worked with were great.

The management was gossiping with staff and was nice to your face and your enemy behind your back. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It has a very toxic environment in the office but when it was remote I loved it. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Doing payroll then communicating with people in the field and managers for work info and travel. Made reservations and booked flights etc.

A normal day in the NDE world would consist of carrying out many different NDE methods that are based around the type of inspection that might be required for the job you are involved with. That also depends on the type of system you might be required to perform NDE on. You see those different systems will stipulate the required NDE that needs to be completed in order to meet codes and Specification.

Applus in Canada is a toxic environment. If you are not a part of the New-Brunswick Boy's Club, you won't get any chance to progress in your career. Upper managers don't have any strategy and they don't even know how to support their employees. They promess you a lot of things and they don't keep their word. The only way to progress in this company is to be a relative or to be from New-Brunswick. They pay you really good salary, but they are not even listening to you when you bring solutions. Honestly the worst place I've been working in my career.  

Poor communication by management regarding expectations, left to figure things out without guidance and minimal direction, low pay.  There was alot of added "extra" requirements to be fulfilled without compensation after the contract was agreed to.

Currently working as a contract inspector for Suncor Energy Inc. through Applus RTD. Working in a turnaround environment inspecting process equipment for regulatory purposes.

Inspecting equipment, reporting findings and creating repair request to have repairs carried out as required.

Dealing with subcontractors, reliability engineering, and execution to achieve the completion of the inspection.

Good environment to work.

The turnaround crews are the best I have ever seen in oil and gas. Their leadership is second to none. Experienced employees maintain a great teamwork environment and help carry the newer employees through chaotic/ stressful tasks. 

Management has a bunch of amazing and talented professionals. Not all are going to win a popularity contest, but the jobs are carried out as best as the situation allows.
