Argus Residence for Young People

Great 3 month program for those who want new skills in retail, donation receiving, First Aid/CPR/AED training. They also cover some costs for transportation (gas, bus) and steel toe shoes. Most customers were friendly. Work hours are different for each person. Weekly homework assignments. Daily Zoom meetings in the morning. Schedule adjusts if you miss days. My group was great to work with (9-10 people). Supervisor was great, but I've heard from others that the manager can be hard to work with. One inconvenience for me was no lunch room. You either eat outside, in your car, or by a stairwell. But you get a foldable chair and table.

The was an amazing 3 month job opportunity! I wished it lasted longer, or there was an option to stay on. It gave me that push to want to learn new skills,and sharpen old ones. It also gives you a chance to learn what Argus actually does in our community. I never got a chance to actually work the retail job, but thats because we were the ones that helped to prepare for the opening of it. We painted the store, we sorted and set up everything. It was overall one of the best opportunities out there. The only thing is we didn't get at $750.00 bonus for completing. Jump on it everyone, its worth it! Thanks so much Argus 😊

I had my placement for school at this organization. It was fantastic and got me a ton of hands on experience in the SSW field. The management were amazing and so helpful at all times. Definitely would recommend.

Support and assist youth during their daily activities. Giving encouraging advice, being a shoulder to cry on, a confidant, building trusting relationships. 
Encourage the youth to grow and live a productive life. 
I have learned of the many struggles that youth are facing and the challenges they encounter.

This job was so fulfilling for me. As I did live in the Argus home for women as well as work for them I am extremely grateful for all they offered me. They were open, trusting, and willing to be there every step of the way though stressful situations as well as celebrate my accomplishments in the company.

the job is easy to figure out on your own but there was so much confusion and miscommunication. but overall a good experience and met great friends and had life motivation

Great place to get general workplace experience and a friend or two, but everything is set in place no ideas for improving or streamlining will be supported or approved and the management tries to exist but their is very little clear, direct management.

Working with the kids is great, but Management doesn’t take your ideas into account ever, it’s their way or no way. They are way more focused on how the company looks then how there employees feel. Very gossipy place to work.
