Armada Toolworks

Working at Armada was a valuable life lesson, and very helpful. However, they did not communicate well with their employees, and didn't do everything they should have done.

A severe lack of complete and well-organized instructions, lack of digitization of many stations, and a non user friendly setup made learning what you need to do difficult at times. 

The people I worked with were not always helpful and friendly - Rumours were heard almost daily and hostility was shown between individuals.

The most difficult part of the job was being held to unrealistic expectations - When it is your first time on the line, you feel a severe pressure to be doing as well as the people who've been there for years. It dropped the quality of work a lot.

The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to know the lines, and how to be efficient without making mistakes.

This company is controlled by the union members, hourly employees, the company gives in quickly to the demands of the union members.  If your not part of the union your voice is not heard. The company has an old boys attitude, upper management is very clicky, and spends more time gossiping than accually doing there jobs.  Information communtication is not transfered unless you are part of the click, or gossip group. Making it very difficult to do your job. They are very quick to judge people and gossip to anyone who will listen to them.  Management make promises at the moment of job advancement or wage increases and doesn't carry through.  No advancement within the company, promised but not provided the resources to do the job.

A typical day at Armada Toolworks would be for everyone to be stationed at a designated area of work. I left Armada with the knowledge of more hand and power tools, Completed and entered quality records, scrap reports and machine logs in a timely manner.
My co-workers were some of the nicest people Ive had the pleasure of meeting, the work environment made it seem like a one family business where everyone knew each other and greeted each other at the start of the day till the end. The hardest part about this job is that you are stationed at one spot a week (repetitive.) The most enjoyable part of this job was the conversations between employee to employee or employee to management.

Management didn't know what they were doing, supervisors were very poorly chosen in order to survive you gotta Be a butt kisser or be dating management, the overall morale of armada was horrible forced OT cancelation of holidays messing with our holiday pay (taxing us out the butt) they locked us out in 2012-2013 almost 2 weeks before christmas (they'll tell you we were on strike)one Sunday night there was locks on the doors and security posted

Going to work knowing that it is mission impossible and management expects the impossible.

Backstabbing poisoned work environment turnover rate is humungous

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
try to pry myself out of bed force myself to drive to work force myself to get out of the vehicle prey the power goes out.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is none, worst job I've ever had. Boss and every coworker hates each other and no one cares about their job at that factory

Co workers are complete stuck up people who think they know everything

Stressful and makes everyone mad, worst factory in lindsay

Not worth the pay, stressed all day and want coworkers no where near me

The people there are great people

Management not listening to what people on the floor have to say

For the most part is good management needs to spend more time on the floor 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Computer work inspections of products and proper packaging of the products completing of paperwork and filling of orders

There is no cooperation between the departments whatsoever and maintenance does as they please and are untouchable.  Worst part is they know it and the president tolerates it.  The best part about working here is leaving at the end of your shift.  Quality is out of control and run the production floor, scheduling is a disaster and setup are too shot staffed to fix anything properly.  
Its a fiasco and the upper management old boys club needs to be removed.

Dedicated co workers that are willing to help and work towards a common goal.

Wouldn't say there was a lot of stress, workload was manageable and had a good manager.

Good work environment. People would help when needed.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Various tasks and involvement with several different people.

This place treats employees like garbage. It has many supervisors who can't assure the work goes correctly and efficiently. Every day the lack of communication between departments leads to hours of useless repetitive fixing of somebody else's mistakes. Management does not know a thing about constant problems because the supervisors covering their behinds by not fixing the problem and just ignoring it. Overall, a terrible workplace.
