Armstrongs National Alarm Monitoring

One of the worst experience of my life as a worker. The company doesn't care about their own employees, they view us as unstoppable robots/machines rather than human being with limits. We have to work so many long hours with barely any breaks, there's always a lack of staff because either A) people quit (horrible work conditions) B) (we are short on employees AND people cancel last minute) which causes overloaded work divided between 2-3 operators for 12hours. The system is awful and so complicated for no reason which is stressful and hard. Our mental & physical health don't mean anything to them as long as the $$$ comes in. If you're trying to adjust your schedule because it's  overwhelming, they won't give you the free will to choose what fits best, and you'll still have to follow their restricted "plan B" schedule which isn't better. The pay wage is awful for the amount of work & time we have to put in+ dealing with customers . It may appear simple , but it gets mentally draining. They rather lose good employees instead of listening to them to make progress, create a safe work environment & taking our ideas on how to make it less overwhelming & more enjoyable. 

This is a great place to work provided you can handle the hours and understand what our job is and isn't. We never sell things, we never cold call. Each call we make is part of a contract people sign so we call them on alarms.

There is a lot to take in but you're not expected to know it all, rather to work as a member of a team and to rely on the knowledge of other operators as you learn the ins and outs of the industry.

If you're they type of person who thrives in fast paced environments, works well in a team, and genuinely enjoys helping people, this job is a piece of cake once you get into the swing of things.

The main downside is the shift work. 2 days of 12 hours, 24 hours off, 2 nights of 12 hours, the 4 days off. It's nice to have the extended time off each rotation but it takes time to get used to 12 hour shifts but once you do, they tend to go quickly.

I really enjoy working for armstrong's monitoring. All of the staff is very helpful and cooperative, management is great, pay is good and work/life balance is amazing! You work 4 on, 4 off, so between each rotation you get like a mini vacation. If you like working in a fast paced environment this place is for you! The shifts may seem long, but they pass very quickly. Only thing that is a bit hard to get used to are night shifts. But they aren't that bad and they go by very fast! You also get 4 weeks of training before starting on the floor which is great. I highly recommend working here!

Inconsistencies and changes in policy's and procedures with next to no communication between management and general staff,  people are just supposed to know if something changes. People are not held accountable for their work so a lot just don't care making it a toxic environment. Always short staff since most that are hired quit early on since there is not much incentive or advancement opportunities and not a lot of appreciation is given by management.

I loved working at Armstrong's the employees and managers were always so nice. Of course you will sometimes disagree on certain things and small argument may occur but this is expected at any workplace where you work long hours with the same people. At the end of the day your coworkers are kind of like a second family in a way. I loved my job only reason I left was to go back to school. 

Not the best place to work   God forbide your face is not glued to the screens.  They have cameras watching you all day even from working at home.  If you have a record you can still work there cause they don't check for any records.  Also wish they would stop taking the legit reviews of this site like this from potential people that would  work there.

I would monitor alarms on my screen and receive calls from clients in regards to alarms. I learned about alarm systems, how they function.I enjoyed helping people. The hours are not great having to go from 2 day shifts right to 2 nights shifts. Management needs to crack down on employees so they have consequences for not coming in or being late. This made it harder on the rest of the staff.

Great character and skill building opportunity BUT understaffed, underpaid, overworked and the term fast pace does not scratch the surface of how fast you are expected to be.

Overall a great place to work! Friendly staff & management, great work life balance (4 on 4 off) , plenty of open shifts if you want to do overtime, and a decent starting wage. 

Loved working here pretty flexible  with hours although its 12h shifts on a rotation to start but then there is room for accommodating your life style staff is pretty cool almost like a little family
