Army & Navy

Its very racially divided unfortunatley. You go in the lunchroom and each country has they're own table. Most people that work there are of Asian descent and most don't care to mingle with anyone else. Not a very strong sense of community at that location. I loved my department, I loved everyone I worked with in my department. We always laughed and joked and kept up to speed on movies and shows and fishing talk all the time. The regular fishing customers would always come shake my hand and ask how fishing has been, usually would show me a picture of their latest catch and then ask me how i've been doing on the river. Great customers in that sense. But being located on the downtown east side, we also saw many customers coming into the store high on drugs or coming off drugs trying to steal as much as possible. Thankfully we have an excellent security team to keep everyone safe. Its just not a pleasant site to see most of the time. The basement section of the store if very dusty, i would frequently be washing my hands. Same in the storeroom. But it is an old building. The best part of the job is the relationships you make and the reputation you get when people spot you on the river. Everyone always comes up and says hey you work at army and navy, you're a great fisherman. The next most enjoyable thing is when we all get off work together at 9pm and its warm out and still light. On a Friday night you're right downtown and the city is switching into nightlife mode. A great way to end a work week.

I felt that I was paid a fair wage, however, there were no benefits that came with the job (only full-timers got them) besides a very small discount on store merchandise. I think break times could've been structured better. I had a hard time scheduling my personal and social events around my work as we only received our shift times one week in advance. Management was awesome, team members were easy to get along with, and we focused on collaboration and respect between the group. I always felt heard and validated when I brought up my concerns. I appreciated how management prioritized internal promotion. Overall, a good place to work if you don't mind the wonky scheduling and lack of benefits for (part-time workers). 

I learned it's challenging to be a part-time Sales Associate but it's also a good experience to have one on one interaction with the customers in getting to know them better. It serves as a really good experience for someone who wants to get to know more about how to handle on the floor jobs. My co-workers have are fair, not too easy not to difficult to tolerate with. The hardest experience is having customers that are down right rude with no respect but one of the enjoying parts of it is having to meet new people of different ages and to interact on a daily basis.

When I started I was assigned to the shoe area, the place was a mess. No organization and the managers didn't supervise or check to make sure things were going the way they should. I was there for about 8 weeks, the shoes were organized by style and size. It had never been that clean. I fell ill and had gone to the hospital for 3 days and came back with a doctors note after already calling in to clear up the situation. when i returned to work i was told i was no longer employed there. The place goes through employees like toilet paper. i would never suggest working at this place if you want a secure or even workable employment

Being a bartender is having your own business everyday, You must make ensure that people who come in are having a good time , but not tooo much of a good time . Here is where i  learned to keep and cool head. Working in a small staff you must learned to get along with others,and help each others , because when things go wrong in a bar , it can be very dangerous to you and all around you.ex people overact when drinking, robbery, guns , knives i have faced them all.

At the beginning I thought some of the staff members were very grumpy or had some attitude, but the more I stayed I realized this was not the case. In fact, they turned out to be friendly and welcoming. Eventually I only worked one day a week, but I really enjoyed the company of my supervisors and fellow coworkers. We had fun, and there were smiles and laughter, and we also did our duties. The only downside is that the washrooms weren't very clean and they were run-down, and the technology used at the cash registers was also pretty old.

Even though I had lost my job at Army and Navy due to COVID19, I have had an excellent job experience with them. They were an excellent company to work for, they cared about the community very much. They offered excellent benefits and work hours depending on your flexability. I really enjoyed the company of the staff and the regular customers we had. The work environment was very optimistic and pleasant, and a majority of the customers who shopped there were very pleasant people!

I loved working at Bath & Body Works, it did not feel like I was actually working because I loved working here so much, even if I was doing replenishment one day I didn't think there was anything much to complain about.
The only problem at the location I was in was a few employees and some of the management who picked favourites and treated some of us very unfairly. If I get to work here again in another location, I would be very honoured!

I was a cashier and I loved the crowd of people this business brought in, I was always having a good time with the co-workers and people around me. It was a variety of products so I noticed it was a wide age variety of customers, the hardest part of this job was the management as i felt it was very poorly taken care of.
