Start ups are a bit rushed for switch driver systems whether they are on time of not. Ideally a gap is desired for smooth flow at dumpsite. Good equipment though not manual transmissions. Shifts are good and pay is great. Better then any highway pay per month and home in your own bed each night on top of that. Benefits are good and my work injury they worked well with me and Worksafe to help me. Would consider going back if timing was right. Especially to the Whitehorse ore haul position. Regardless of chaining and copper concentrate dust, being the most difficult to deal with. Dust is always a safety concern while chaining is a part of trucking life. Get use to it eh lol The driving itself is the journey's reward, incredible scenery right outside your office every shift eh Pay makes that reward the icing on the cake!

Worked as driver a there for 20 years. Pretty good group of people for the most part. This is a large division, so typically there are a few fellow employees that like to make life difficult for others. Union environment so difficult to weed out the few bad apples. For the most part, company is fair, and has been there for many years, so is very solid. Benefits are as per collective agreement so have nothing to do with the Company. Union pension plan is poor. Line equipment is newer, but town iron is tired. They do a decent job of staying on top of things as best they can, but there is a lot of seat jumping which leads to excessive wear and tear. There is absolutely no opportunity for advancement with Arrow as the powers to be do not believe in promoting drivers into management, which is a disappointment as there are some talented potential managers occupying truck seats. If you are looking for a Company that promotes within,  keep looking, this isn.t for you. Otherwise, there are a lot worse jobs and places to work

What is the best part of working at the company?
Although the general atmosphere is positive. The deep reality is that you’re expendable. Your work will never be valued or your smartness, unless you’re the top executive’s favourite. In that case you will have a job for life. You look at the overall, the top are the most useless. All they do is politics creating a horrible atmosphere.  You don’t play with it your gone. My suggestion, play dumb and do the basic and your golden. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Politics are the worst. You don’t know when ur next in line to fire. Once you’re out, severance has an expiry. No time to get a lawyer and you loose it. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Backstabbing all the time. Political 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy. Lots to do but you may end up sideline trying to please someone or answer to issues created because they can.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great respect and understanding between Drivers.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The equipment is under power, old and not properly maintained. The local management is novice in every aspect with personal gain in mind only, and a single focus on the narrative of saving the company money for the short and long run yet it turns out expensive at the end anyways for the most part. Driver's sincerity and hard work is never noticed in a positive way and if he or she doesn't pay attention to pay stubs, being underpaid is most likely. Union is there to push for company's benefits and interests than the driver's.

Drivers have formed a very friendly environment and work well together. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Longer than expected and harder than anticipated.

From loader operators to our COO everyone truly cares about Arrow that works here and always has each other's back. The workplace culture is amazing at Arrow and people are rewarded for their hard work. A typical day at work can be 10-12 hours usually, but the culture and atmosphere at the office and division level is outstanding. The most enjoyable part of my job is coming to work every day for a great boss that truly cares about the company and every individual employee. Arrow is also the most ethical company I have ever worked for and they do things the right way. One last thing, at Arrow they are also open to new innovative ideas from any person in the company and take all recommendations seriously....which I love!!

A typical day at work involves creativity and collaboration with colleagues throughout the company on myriad projects. I've learned about how to conduct business with integrity while pushing hard for success and taking care of your team. Management put in long hours to keep the business operating smoothly. This is true throughout the rough patches, the dedication and focus doesn't let up when things are going well either, that's how to stay ahead. 

Arrow has the most diverse workplace culture I've ever been a part of. It centers around honesty, respect and fairness with a clear vision for the company's future. The hardest part of the job is keeping up with the high bar set by those around me. The most enjoyable part is celebrating success when we achieve those standards!

Driving designated tractor,  no slip seating, steady

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Quite often the yard in edmonton ifs full and not great for docking /dolly off. For the most part equipment is good. Typically have what you need in your truck for straps , bring your own air line parts that you may need for newer trucks.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Pretty good overall. Typical trucking out fit, your expected  to chase that clock.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Pre trip. Check load, routes, ready paperwork, Evms mostly, check phone, hit the road. Deliver goods to client, follow road rules, Dot requirements,  stay I  contact with dispatch,  report delays, issues. Post trip, Sleep and eat in truck repetitive,

This is your classic chip hauling job. Pay is solid, equipment is new, shop is new, and management is solid. Hauling location changes week to week, but if you can be flexible with changing load locations and switching between trailers, it is not too bad at all. Company keeps everyone working during sawmill downtimes by always looking for additional work. Other drivers are mostly  very nice and helpful and good to work with. Arrow is a good company to work for as management cares about drivers which is not the case in other trucking companies I have worked at. 

I've been working as a mechanical with Arrow for 14 months now and plan on spending my career with this company. The work is fast paced and challenging so the days fly by and the management team is engaged and supportive. The pay is excellent and there is training and growth with top of the line tooling and diagnostic software. Shop culture is positive and productive and Arrow is by far the most safety first culture company that I have ever worked for. Safety is always placed first without concern about productivity or profit. Mental health and work life balance is also heavily promoted in our branch 

Working at Arrow over the past 8 years has been amazing! The people all across the company care about each other and the success of the company and its why Arrow has been so resilient and grown so much over the past decade+. Arrow has always provided me lots of interesting work as the company is so diverse now you get to work in multiple areas of business everyday. Finally, the culture is amazing, as people across the whole company work really hard and care about one another. I have been a dispatcher, operations supervisor, and manager and I can honestly say that all jobs have been really rewarding and if you do a great job and work your butt off you are recognized.
