My third year with the company, it's a good place as a part-time steady employment, if one choses to put an effort into learning the process and getting the results for the campaign they're on. 
You can discover your personal strengths and work on turning the dormant parts of your personality into a talent. The managers I've had the privilege to work with were very supportive of that. That does have a lot to do with personal qualities of the managers, of course, but the company's culture also seems to have this air of acceptance of diversity and respect for autonomy for individual callers. 
If you're looking for a career within the company - apply for the positions other than a caller, though it is not unheard of a caller becoming a successful manager. That's the only "movement" I've seen possible career wise. But for a part-time gig - it's a perfect place, whether you're a student or a self-employed professional in between things. 
Once you get strong enough to get through all the rejections, it's a glide. You get to talk to people you will never otherwise talk to in your lifetime and have interesting conversations. Like with any job - you get what you invest into it. 
The pay is not luxurious, but you are rewarded with increases when you reach certain milestones in fundraising or commissions as a salesperson. 
You can also get a great flexibility in schedule and amount of hours you work, provided you pitch in and bring in the results.
I found that so long as you show the interest in honing your skills, the manager was there to guide you. 
A great fun environment, flexibility, and support are the highlights about this company for me.

You're hired by a certain manager for the company and work for their 'team'. With your team, you fund raise for different campaigns and companies, depending on the season. 

The management is horrible. You are berated constantly if you aren't lucky enough to get a sale or donation (and it is all luck basically). You learn disgusting manipulation tactics and will be belittled for being even a minute late. It's a very depressing, toxic, and lifeless environment. I wouldn't recommend ANYONE work here, go deliver food or something instead because you won't get the commission bonuses unless you decide to become a lifer. 

Speaking of which, everyone who works there is a lifer as well, adding to the sadness of it all. Lotto tickets and scratchers are used as incentives for people to hit the sales goal. If you talk to any of your co-workers at all during your shift, you'll probably get chewed out by the manager. You also get constant threats of being fired if you don't get enough sales, show up 1-5 minutes late, or talk back, disobey or show any discontent to the manager at all. The managers show fake smiles and laughs, behind all of it is a ruthless character. On top of all of this, the actual office is dirty, gray and drab as well. 

This job literally put me into depression.

I was working for this company for two months but then I got switched to another  manager because I was not making enough monthly donations over the phone. They expect you to make more  monthly donations than one time donations. It  sucks because everyone is doing their best to get at least one monthly donation per day and  yet they would come to you as if you are not trying your hardest. Now in terms  of the managers’ behaviour, the first manager I had was more caring and understanding but  the other manager  was giving us  so much pressure so I decided to leave before everything would become more chaotic . The only good thing about this is some of them would give you time to rest if you need to because everyone knows  how tough it is to get on the phones if you are feeling ill. If you want to start learning about Telephone fundraising or sales, then this is the company that you can apply for. However, if you just sit there for four hours each day without making any sales, donations or  whatsoever, then the manager will come to you and speak to you in private telling you that you are not   welcome there anymore.  In other words, they are not that patient if you keep on failing in maintaining  their daily target.

Took this job because I was strapped for cash and got out right before I was supposed to be "fired." Management is terrible -- I went through two managers -- the second could not motivate support out of the team despite how hard she tried. "Training" was reading pages from your work binder and then getting on the phones after 2 days. A couple co-workers were emotionally and verbally abusive to others -- witnessed someone throw a man's backpack to the ground and kick it, another co-worker yelled at someone because she felt he wasn't trying hard enough on the phones, etc. They tell you all about these "big bonuses" but unless you work there for 35 years, you'll never see a bigger dime than what you already make. After not getting a sale for a few weeks, I was sat down and told I had to make 3 during my next two shifts or else I'd be terminated. When I questioned the unreasonable goal, my manager was silent and had no idea what to say. I decided to quit. On my last day, there were literally spiders falling from the air vent above us... and that's all you need to really know about Artsmarketing Services on Adelaide St. E. If you're looking for a job where you can make some $$ for only 4 hours a day, look these amateurs up. If not, stay far, far away.

Well, the title says it all., its not a typical call centre where you get long shifts. Basically, you just sit there for four hours  doing your calls everyday. The other campaigns that  they have there have more hours but their  target or daily quota is hard to reach. In terms of our campaign, we are looking for accuracy on how to disposition each call that we are doing. The campaign manager is extremely helpful if we have questions but that does not guarantee that you can retain everything in your first week. I just started last week and I have this feeling that the more  I make  a mistake with the dispositions, the more I will suffer in doing my calls which I hope won't happen again. We also have small meetings before our shift starts where our campaign manager would give us more ideas on how to handle our calls properly and how to disposition them  appropriately.  It is also a good opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in a call centre where everyone is so friendly if you need help with your calls which is a huge plus,

I worked at AMS for over 5 years as both a caller and campaign manager. I bought into their lie that you can build a career with the company. 

AMS management is filled with "lifers", people who have been there for 20yrs or more. As such, they are resistant to new ideas and change of any kind. AMS acts as though nothing can be improved upon simply because it carved out a little place for itself in the market. The problem is that there are now multiple competitors who engage clients and emplyees in a far more progressive way than AMS. 

In short, this company is dying and if you choose to work there, be sure its for extra pocket money. A dead end job if there ever was one.

If it weren't for Artsmarketing I might never have become a professional fundraiser.  From humble beginnings I'm now a Director of Development making over $120,000 a year.  Say what you want about their "model" of fundraising, but it works.  The team may be comprised of "lifers" but they have loads of experience, talent and industry know-how.  If you work hard you will be rewarded.  Fundraising is not for patsies.  You get a lot of rejection and pushback.  If you are good at it - and I was very quickly with AMS, then your future is bright

Standard workplace environment, very effiecient and organized with varied Campaigns in the Art World. Also different time lines of work availability depending on the Campaign.Team meetings before starting work for information on Sales Targets.
Technical help and training always available.
Managers always on site and helpful in solving any problems with customers. 
A good experience all in all.

This is a call centre where it's more about luck than skill. Basically you are on the phone selling theatre subscription packages, concert seasonal passes etc. The pay is very low but they get you with the promise of unrealistic bonuses. Every day they set a sales target and in my time there it was never reached. You are given a script to follow and very poor training. If you don't sell anything in 5 days they fire people in the middle of the shift to put pressure on the rest of the employees. No one last more than a month. The sales itself is a matter of pure luck.

This job is fine if you are extremely desperate and just need to get by for a little while. You will be told to make sales (acquire donations) no matter the cost - even if the person on the other line is clearly in a difficult situation. 

The managers are constantly watching everything you do and do not foster a positive working environment at all. I was there for just over a month and saw multiple people come and go due to the working conditions. 

Work here if you like high pressure for minimum wage.
