Casual atmosphere. 

•	Handles the permit process for all Furnace, Boilers ,Air Conditioning & Water Heater residential sales
•	Scheduling leads, providing Air Conditioning quotes for clients and service technicians
•	Handles all post-job folder and computer work including but not limited to all job paperwork, financing, installation logs, files, permitting, registrations, mailing and tracking permit status
•	Outbound calling for permit inspection schedules and coordinating ladders and post inspection repair
•	Customer service including taking inbound calls, scheduling appointments for estimates, service and installations, and troubleshooting customer problems over the phone
•	Dispatching service technicians
•	Scheduling inspections, providing rebate documentation, registering warranties and handling other industry related tasks
•	Schedule appointments
•	Dispatch our service technicians, installers, and sales representatives
•	Coordinate clear communication between installers, supervisors, customers, venders, and office staff.

Morale can get extremely low.  There was a lot of push to have installations done quickly.  While the push is no longer there, they no longer pay bonuses for early completions - not a big problem since having the extra time means we can do a better job.  

On call rotations as frequently as every two weeks; other companies try to limit on call or every 4-6 months.  High turnover, no journeymen in installation crew.  ZERO.  

I also learned from a former coworker that they don't follow government rules when paying OT.  

They also actively try to get you to delay schooling; plenty of other companies out there encourage you to go to school as quickly as possible.  

All but one of the sales staff do little to help prepare you for your jobs.

The saving grace?  Your coworkers are generally good people and the installation managers and supervisor are good, though still have pressure from above.  

Don't bother with this company.  Lots of other really good companies out there.

I’ve been with Ashton Mechanical for almost a year and it’s the best company I’ve worked for to date. They offer competitive salary’s with bonus structures in place. The company offers a lot of support and wants to see each employee grow into the best they can be. It’s a great team environment that works together to problem solve any issues that could arise in a job. There many company wide events, monthly breakfast that always have tool draws and give always. There’s also company outings to baseball games, golf tournaments, fishing trips, go carting and paintball. Working at Ashton I feel apart of a team and look forward to growing with them as they expand! Could not recommend them more. 

Ashton has a very inclusive work environment where hard work is recognized and rewarded. There are consistently fun company events and breakfasts where management really treats the staff. You aren't just a number working for this company - you are truly appreciated and are reminded of this regularly. If there's something missing that can make your job easier (tools, parts, etc.), management listens and, within reason, will always get you what you need. Lots of perks like tool repayment plans, boot allowance, benefits plan, birthday and anniversary gifts, efficiency bonuses; all things that really set this company apart from the others. Very happy to work for this company!

This job and this company is not for everyone. but speaking for myself, looking back over the last 7+ years, the opportunities for growth, personally and profesionaly at Ashton have been amazing.  The caring, knowledgeable and innovative profesionals Ashton has been able to attract and retain, have served as a solid foundation of development and motivation in the advancement of my career (not to mention, also financially rewarding.) Not that everything is perfect but it is really great to be part of a group where people really do care and it shows in the details.



Work culture is hit or miss depending who you talk to. All residential installers are over work and don't have enough equipment training. 
Service technicians are overwhelmed with too many calls and lack of technicians.
Office tends to lie to customers and do not communicate clearly for missed/cancelled appointments.
It's challenging working for this type of company culture long term as frustrations are constantly occurring. 

I’ve worked here for 8 years and I don’t plan on leaving. If you put in the effort, you are rewarded. The attention to quality and customer service are the best I’ve seen in my 15 years in the industry. 

The owners truly care about their staff progressing in the trade. Previously places I’ve worked I would stay home if we were slow. Although we are rarely slow, they always pair you up with someone to further your skills. This says a lot about the company. 



Worked here for a while until I realized how incompetent the owner of the company and his son were. All they care about is money and have no formal knowledge of the trade and how to retain customers and employees. Many other plumbing hvac companys out there doing a better job at managing their company these guys have alot to learn of they are willing to take the advice instead of being stuck in the good american ways

I've worked for 4 plumbing contractors in Metro Vancouver and by far this is the best employer. Big fan of the paid training, friendly management, flexible hours. 

They do both residential, commercial, and construction so if you don't find something you like, you can swap departments and learn HVAC or plumbing. Guaranteed 40hrs a week and OT if you want it.
