Associa Chicagoland is a good company. The duties of the position were challenging but rewarding. The staff worked hard and were supportive. The residents and Board were pleasant. 

However, the onsite management team is not rewarding, supportive, nor pleasant. The manager is narcissistic and paranoid, manipulating every situation. The manager will only hire lower-level managers she can manipulate to behave in manners which are detrimental to one’s well-being and overall team spirit. She will emotionally-vomit her thoughts while projecting this behavior unto her staff attacking them with insults (to the point they feel forced to defend themselves). The manager is unsupportive, inconsistent, insecure, and threatening. This manager cannot handle stress. This manager will insult Associa, staff, residents and Board demanding that we support her by participating with her behaviors. If you don’t agree, she will sabotage your reputation and work ethic. I have never experienced the level of immaturity in a corporate management setting which is why I chose a two star rating.

If you actually have the skills and qualification to be an accountant and actually went to school for it then DO NOT apply to work at this company, they will hire anyone to do the job and some are unaware with what a debit and credit are for an accounting position before they start.

Management will lie and go behind your back, and not tell the truth in order for a person to be let go. They claim that they didn't fit in with the work environment, and make things up to cover up their tracks to make themselves feel better about their decisions. It is a toxic environment if you are not careful.

Benefits are not paid for by the company but out of your paycheque and you do not have the option to choose what you would like to choose, so you are forced to take the full package if you want any sort of benefit coverage.

In the 8 months I worked there, I got nothing but jerked around, underutilized and ended up being let go for no cause. During the time there, the entire service department personnel had a 100% turn over rate and when I was let go actually had the highest seniority.

They have employee control programs that are complicated and crash all the time and when that happens the start blame gaming. When something goes wrong, the blame gaming starts again.

They promise vehicle use reimbursements but use bureaucratic excuses not to pay out those reimbursements and when I complained about that, I was dismissed and shown the door. 

Do not work for this company!!!

It's a tough industry, so everyone here agrees, we're here for our fellow employees.  We do our best to support each other and across departments.  And despite differences in approach and opinion, we all believe we have the same end goal: to serve the client with the best of intentions.  

Good size employee base, allowing opportunities to transfer internally, advance in the hierarchy, and cross train in different functions.

The company constantly goes through technological advancement; sometimes two steps forward, one step back.  Definitely not a company that will wait and watch others innovate first.

The Wilson Blanchard family makes coming to work everyday engaging and enjoyable.  Colleagues are warm and friendly. Leadership is supportive and open to new ideas.

WB/Associa is a great place to grow your career.  Tons of opportunities for company paid training and development.  Internal movement is supported and encouraged.

Some of my favorite things about WB/Associa are my team/colleagues, organizational respect for work life balance ex. generous paid time off (personal/sick/vacation) and Flex Fridays, and pop corn on Fridays.

Love the people in BC. Its been interesting learning about the industry.  Lots of very knowledgeable staff and leaders. 

The team at Associa  have made me feel very welcome over the last 1 1/2 years.  I love that they invest in their employees and take the time to celebrate the wins.

The Executive, Human Resources, New Business and Quality Assurance team at Associa go beyond expectations with not only with their customers but also with  their employees..  Associa is a safe and friendly environment to work in, encouraging educational growth within the strata industry.   Having multiple departments that specialize in accounting, administration and on-call services helps to stream line the management of our Strata Communities.

If you want a low paying, political nightmare of a company to work for, then Associa is for you.
Weekly firings, broken promises and sub standard management, Associa is for you.
Its all about control, keep your back to the wall and your head down.
No accountable behavior what so ever. 

If your a deceptive manipulator, who thrives on stepping on others, Associa is for you!

Best job ever. I really loved my manager, the receptionist, the senior management the HR department and my colleagues. I felt supported by all and we had lots of fun too. 

Everyone is very friendly and willing to help out. Lots of social events that occur on a monthly basis which gets everyone out and about from the office and from the desk. Management is understanding and helpful. There is an opportunity to make extra money by doing AGM minutes.
