If you love being Jack of all trades while being underpaid, go apply to assurant. The workload they put on a front line agent doesn't equal the wage the agent make. Big workload for a small pay, even when working 5 years at the company, even changing departments (that department has more workload and expectations)
No, it is not a livable wage when starting at assurant. No the management teams doesn't manage right, the turn over rate is high. And they wonder why people quit.
If you apply, by all means, be ready to have more workloads with small to no change in your wage, be ready to be Jack of all trades, be ready to not have management support in a timely manner, be ready for poor management skills for customers escalations. Be ready to have little to no help at all.
(Some co-workers were nice to work with, some on 1 management team are ok) 

Not very many people will stay with this company and very poor communication within this organization.  Management needs to learn that their employees are their greatest asset and instead of giving them company swag, food and candy, pay them a decent wage so that they can afford a better lifestyle.  People are afraid to speak up since they feel they will be punished in one way or another.  Alot of favoritism therefore this is not a company where you can grow your career unless you are one of mangements favorite employee. Constant computer software issues and no time allowed regarding your stats to compensate for these issues.  If you are serious about your career find yourself a better company to work for.

A typical day consists of repetitive area tasks sometime sprinkled with special projects.  For the most part the people are great, and engagement opportunities are ample.  Benefits are very good, there are other companies with maybe cheaper healthcare premiums but Assurant's PTO policy is something I've never seen before.  Facility upper management is supportive, and there are plenty of opportunities for self improvement although promotions or opportunities to change jobs is limited.  Overall one of the best companies I've worked for.  

I worked for the company for over 8 years. Started in the retention department and moved to the warranty department. Retention department only cared about your retention rate most of the time. Warranty was better to work in. Definitely example of it's who you know, not what you know in order to advance.
Mostly concerned about your average handle time for calls in the warranty department. I kept advising that I believed in a one call resolution for the customer when it can be done. 
I found most people didn't stay long and moved on to other jobs or went back to school. 
Coworkers were mostly good and very helpful. That's mainly what helped make the job.

The environment is very consistent, and the salary is nice. 
However the day-to-day work can be extremely taxing with little to no support. There is a culture among the staff and management of laziness in that many problems go unaddressed for days at a time. 

There is little room for advancement despite what is told to you in the entrance interview. The criteria used as a basis for promotion feels arbitrary. Additionally a lot of the mid-level staff play to favourites, and as a result it is very hard to be judged on the quality of your work.

Senior management is rotated frequently, so it does not set the best example to remain and hope for a promotion.

Taking stressful calls all day. I learned that the company comes first and the workers that work hard each day can be replaced in an instance. Most of my co-workers were the best people to be around and did their best to lighten things up. The hardest part of the job was not being able to give to the customer the time they needed on the phone and dealing with upset customers all day long. The most enjoyable part of the job was when a customer thanked you for treating them like a human being and taking the time to care. The bad part of that was then you did not make your time per call when you cared about people and that made you expendible down the road.

1. The Management up to Supervisor level incompetent, Prejudice , ignorant of Management Skills.
2. Monotony  prevailed and only better jobs will be assigned to a few blue eyed 
3. No appreciation of Good Work
4. Work place culture was WEIRED
5. Hardest part of job, Incompetent Supervisor will only focus on her preferred employees , No matter how better other 
employee will perform
6.a The Manager and Senior Supervisor will appreciate between Good and Bad Employee 
6.b Financial benefits were better than most of the Company
7. The Senior Management will ignore the principles of Management to capture better market share




A typical day, in the department that I worked in, was sitting on the phones, while doing admin work.  Assurant has very supporting management, they are honestly always ready to help.  It's a team-oriented environment, so working with your coworkers is fun, and non-competitive. The hardest part of the job was waiting between calls, I worked in a department with a very low call volume, so there was a lot of time to wait before getting your next call.  The most enjoyable part was being able to befriend your coworkers, and hang out, while also getting work done.

I work for the warranty department answering phones for product service plans and product replacement plans.

I have learned how to better deal with other types of customers in a very well behaved manor, and how to quickly work on a computer

Everyone around me is great and very helpful, I have never felt that I was out of place or asking something I should already know.

Hardest part of my job would be, not knowing how to help someone that really needs it and only being able to give them one answer and sending them on their way.

Most enjoyable part of my job, is dealing with people and getting to work with such amazing people.

I may learn many things in a day or take my assests and skills and put them to essential use 
Time management, and customer management is key
Everyone helps when the time is needed
Fast pace may get a little rowdy at times, but you learn to manage it with experience and practice
The most enjoyable part of the job is taking what you have learned and known about the job and making someone's day.
